Life, love, and unlikely legacies. Willow runs into Luke, the unrequited lust-of-her-life, 10 years on, and this time around he’s interested - she’s lost 20 pounds and found fashion. But her best friends are suspicious that it's too good to be true. What is Luke really after: Willow or her anticipated inheritance? Her brother's new friend Cal is gorgeous and… well… gay, then reveals himself to be more than a mild, unassuming computer geek, and she is no longer sure exactly who is telling the truth or who to trust.
Is anyone in her life what they seem to be? Add to the romantic confusion 12 pairs of rubber boots, two elderly spaniels, a pregnant sister, and a disgruntled goat, and you get a funny, touching story of a woman in search of revenge and getting what she needs, rather than what she thinks she wants.

Friends in interesting times.
This was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed it. It has great character development, with people I really like, and a plot that moves along from the beginning and builds with mystery and anticipation. It doesn't have world changing implications in science or medicine or politics, but it is great entertainment. I expected a chick romance (I dont usually read them, so i dont think it was one) but it was great fun. (I bought it because Cori Samuels was the reader, and i can't help but seek out the books she reads.) Ok, you occasionally want to grab Willow and shake her and say, "Get some sense, girl. Don't be so gullible." But she is quite reasonably intelligent, chamingly innocent, and put in a situation most of us would never expect to be in. and her friends do quetion her love struck judgement anyway, just more politely than i would. Read it! (P.S. I like Kerry Greenwood, John Grisham, Charlie Stross, W.E.B. Griffin, J.K. Rowling, and Colin Cotterill, Nevil Shute, books read by Cori Samuel ;-) and now books by Jane Lovering.)
She is an exceptional reader. I love her voice and accent. She does great characterization of the different people in the story. I don't know how to describe how much i enjoy her performance. I certainly look for all the books she reads.
Very Fun Read
It was a nice surprise. This is another one of those books I've had in my library for a long time and finally decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did. This is the perfect book to listen to while on vacation. It is funny and entertaining and the story moves along and wraps with a happy ending!
If you liked Bridget Jones then you'll probably like this. It has the same humor and some similar characteristics. In this book, Willow doesn't even know how adorable she is and like Bridget, Willow has 2 men in the works - a good one and a bad one. The development is just fun and light.
I really didn't like Luke's voice. That is one aspect of the narration that I would have changed. It sounded so forced and I had a hard time listening to his character.
I really liked Willow. She is funny and self deprecating with loads of friends and family that love her.
A fun, lighthearted listen. I"m glad I finally gave it a chance.
