Publisher's Summary

Rebellion is brewing in Napoleonic Paris, in the new action-packed novel from the author of the best-selling Ratcatcher.
October, 1812: Britain and France are still at war. France is engaged on two battle fronts - Spain and Russia - and her civilians are growing weary of the fight. Rebellion is brewing. Since Napoleon Bonaparte appointed himself as First Consul, there have been several attempts to either kill or overthrow him. All have failed, so far.…
Meanwhile in London, Bow Street Runner Matthew Hawkwood has been seconded to the foreign arm of the Secret Service. Excellent!!

I have read a few of James McGee's books now (including this one) so when I saw three of his works on Audible I had to download!

Having already read the book I knew the story but it was still as exciting to hear now as it was the first time I read it.

His knowledge is clear from reading his books, the historical accuracy is astounding, they are intelligently written and brilliantly read by David Timson.

I can't rate his books highly enough. If you crave excitement and adventure this is a great read! 5*
