Publisher's Summary

Opening with the exotic Lady Death entering the gumshoe-writer's seedy office in pursuit of a writer named Celine, this novel demonstrates Bukowski's own brand of humour and realism, opening up a landscape of seamy Los Angeles.

Bukowskis worst.......still pretty good

This book was entertaining in its own right, however I would not recommended for new bukowski readers. Read Ham on Rye.

The sick imaginations of a horny drunkard

The conclusion was underwhelming. The story was engaging and tolerable, and the performance was good too. I can't deny though that I snickered a few times at the prejudious descriptions of some dumbwhitted characters.
