WHEN THE WORLD ENDS, I WOULD LIKE TO BE IN

CINCINNATI, BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS 20 YEARS BEHIND.
When people say this is old tyme entertainment, they mean the 50's are latter. I think they actually copied some stories from old days. I can not believe that someone today would write a story were a boy tells a girl in a wheelchair, that she can walk. He just meets the girl and he knows she can walk. The mother is keeping her in a wheelchair on purpose. Many of the plots are easily predicted. There is one episode with Mark Twain that did not even have a plot. Twain says AMERICA IS BUILT ON A TILT, SO EVERYTHING LOOSE SLIDES TO CALIFORNIA.

I NEVER LIKED THE SUNRISE, IT COMES TO EARLY IN THE MORNING
I usually am okay with a simple plot, but these are just to simple, even for me. The production is great, just needs better writing. I will not continue this series.

Entertainment to the fullest

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to adults and children alike. Anyone who just appreciates dramatized stories will not be disappointed in Powder River. My 8 yr. old son loves these fantastic western stories!!

What other book might you compare Powder River - Season One to and why?

I think the family and moral values and ideas presented in Powder River remind me a lot of the little house on the prairie stories! The father son relationship is a true winner!

Which scene was your favorite?

This one is a tough one to answer because I so enjoyed the complete season.

Who was the most memorable character of Powder River - Season One and why?

Of course, the Marshall. I really love his strength and his love that he has for his deceased wife! That in it self wins my heart..

Any additional comments?

I will look forward to listening to the rest of the seasons. I am so glad that there is no foul language used in Season one! I hope they continue this for the future! Its a good clean program for anyone, and that is well worth the money to me as a mother.

A good Radio Drama Western

This is a modern radio drama western. I've been in the mood for westerns lately for no reason in particular. Perhaps it was all that Red Dead Redemption I've been playing.

I'd prefer the subject matter to be a little more adult orientated as this appears to be targeted for family listening. That aside, I found this first season of Powder River highly entertaining. I'd slap on iTunes, lie down in bed, close my eyes and get lost in the exploits of Britt MacMasters and his son, Chad.

By the end of the season, I had become so familiar with all the town's characters (think of how you may know all the characters in the Simpson's town) that I wanted more. So I quickly snapped up the next couple of seasons.

Overall good stuff. The audio quality and mixing is excellent. The effects are minimal (horses clapping away, etc.), good music et al. If you like family friendly radio westerns, this is one for you. Even if you just want to try it out, it's dirt cheap for the quality and length of this production here on Audible, I was quite surprised.

Old time style radio with brand new stories

Powder River is a Western radio drama in the style of Bonanza and Gunsmoke, but has great pace and performances by the Colonial Radio Theater.

Brett McMasters and his son Chad have just moved to a ranch near Claremont, Wyoming, bringing secrets with them that unfold throughout the first season. With a great supporting cast of characters, Powder River will be an adventure you'll enjoy and want to listen to.
