Narrator 👎🏾

I didn’t like the narrator.... 🤦🏾‍♀️ She was trying to be sexy and it just throw off the whole story....

Immortal Guardians

The only good story in here is the third one, Phantom Embrace by Dianne Duvall. It's worth five star if it wasn't bundled up with this lot that I've wasted money on and if it's a bit longer.

Could not listen

I really only got this to listen to the Dianne Duvall story. I could not even get thru one chapter. The narrator is terrible.

Immortal Guardians want love too

Having already listened to Phantom Embrace, I wondered about the beginning of Phantom Embrace. But soon saw where this was going and I was thrilled. Even in the afterlife there is love.

Four stories to choose from

Of these four stories, Dianne Duvall won hands down. The others were OK to good, but you cannot beat perfection. Ms. Duvall continues to consistently offer worth the reader’s time to read or listen.

Phantom Embrace - Excellent Story

I tried to listen to the whole collection but I can't stand the sound of this narrator. I listened to the first story, then skipped to Phantom Embrace since I couldn't handle her raspy old voice much. Love Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians and was so sad Yuri fell in the line of duty but still got his Happily Ever After. Cat and her brother Sebastian have such a tragic past, so it's nice to see Cat finally found love after death. I ended up buying the Kindle version and read the book also, which I enjoyed more. I give this story only, 5 stars. The first story in the collection I would give a 4. Didn't listen to the other two.

Couldn't stop rolling my eyes 👀.

I bought this book for Phantom Embrace. I was apprehensive seeing that Kirsten Potter wasn't the narrator. I was right.
Arika must not have ever listened to any of the books. She pronounced names wrong, and the accents were really difficult to listen to. I caught her switching accents on the same person or changing them outright. Marcus is British and she read him as Russian. Cat is British and Arika read her as half British/half American. AND David is South African and he sounded very American. I wouldn't have minded it too much if she could have just kept it together.
This story basically explains some background for Night bound. Doesn't really move the current plot along at all, but is a nice addition. I really really wish Kirsten Potter would consider re re-recording this. I would totally buy it. On to Shadows Strike!

A Good Mix

I picked this up because I'm currently in the Immortal Guardians series by Dianne Duvall, so I wanted to make sure I got the short story in this volume also. Considering I'm enjoying the Immortal Guardians series, I can tell you I also enjoyed the story in this anthology, although there is a fair amount of backtracking to help readers who know nothing of the series or its characters. That's not a complaint--I think it's something to be expected in a case like this, and I didn't mind it. The story with Yuri and Cat was beautiful, and well...haunting. I'm glad I got to listen to it.

I'm also a big fan of Rebecca Zanetti's works, so I considered it a bonus that she had a story in this anthology. As usual, it was also a wonderful tale full of sizzle, steam, and a hot hunky warrior protector with a hint of a Scottish brogue *yes, please!* Deacon is definitely deadly to a girl's sanity. All of Ms. Zanetti's characters are always full of depth, intrigue, and heart. How she can pull that off in a short story is amazing to me, but it sure makes for great reading/listening.

The other two stories weren't quite as interesting to me, but others might enjoy them more than I. Altogether, it's a nice mix of different paranormal romance styles and stories.

I hate compilations of novellas

What did you like best about On the Hunt? What did you like least?

I bought this book as I have the few other compilation books, for one novella. I am addicted to Diane Duval's series Immortal Guardian books, I couldn't wait until the book came out as a single .5. In addition, I Hate this new trend of .5 books. I presume it is because fans are too eager to wait for a full book or they don't have to put as much detail etc. into it. I don't know. .5 books make me angry. (On a separate note I really enjoyed Phantom Embrace.)

Would you recommend On the Hunt to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably not for the reasons I stated above.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Not their fault. No other narrator is as good as Kirsten Potter, Tavia Gilbert and Jennifer Ikeda.

Could you see On the Hunt being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I believe the Immortal Guardian series would be an excellent series of movies, if it is done right with the right actors!

Any additional comments?

I tried to listen to the other stories, in their defense they might be good, just not for me. I really didn't give them a real chance and doubt I will.
