Super creepy story

On Time Delivery is another great short horror story. About a truck driver that is down on his luck. Trying desperately to make enough money to care for is family.

The job of a lifetime drops in his lap. Paying more than he could imagine for such an easy assignment, and to top it all off, it is every week! Of course he jumps at the opportunity. There is just one stipulation. Whatever he does he cannot be late, ever. He picks up is load from a really creepy facility to find that the delivery manifest just says "meat".

Then the unthinkable happens. His son is admitted to the hospital and his wife cannot be found, while he is on a run. Being distracted by this catastrophe. He ends up being late. Remember what he was told. Do. Not. Be. Late.

Super creepy story with, not a surprise ending, but a great one. I love listening to short stories in between other full length books. While they are great time fillers. You also get a chance to see what an author is really made of. With less than an hour Jason Davis had to capture my attention. Develop a few characters. Flesh out a complete plot. Then end it all in a creative way. Davis has succeeded here.

Lawrence D. Palmer sounds exactly like what I think a long time truck driver sounds like in my head. Making him a perfect fit for bringing this story to life. He was adequately able to vocalize the different emotional states of all of the characters. While making the new "employer" sound really disturbing. I will be on the lookout for more by Palmer.

Cool short story

Pretty cool short story. The narrator was almost monotone but not too bad. I enjoyed the story though.
