Another great love story!

What made the experience of listening to Oh, Cherry Ripe the most enjoyable?

Listening to this in audio made the story even more enjoyable than reading it. You could really hear the emotions and understand the dialect a lot better. Claudy has written another great story. I always fall in love with the characters in each of her books. Very quickly I might add. Cherry is a deceitful young woman and though she doesn't know it at the time, it's actually good that she lied about who she was. This story proves that love always wins in the end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Oh, Cherry Ripe?

I really loved how the children, Felix and Francine, connected to Cherry almost immediately. I also love how she met Sky before becoming the children's governess.

What about Valerie Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Valerie's voice was very smooth and engaging.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment that moved me in Oh Cherry Ripe was when Sky went looking for her after she took off and went back home. I love how he just accepted who she was and wasn't angry for her lying to him.

Claudy is a great author. If you haven't read any of her books, you need to do so ASAP.

Amazing author

This is an AMAZING story as well as an AMAZING author NOT ONLY THAT, The Narrator TOTALLY ROCKS!! I've listened to A LOT OF BOOKS BY Valerie Gilbert & SHE'S GREAT!!! Claudy Conn is Truly a Great Story Teller!!

What an enriching addition!

I loved being able to listen to this as I read along! It was very relaxing to listen to Valerie's voice narrating the amazing story Claudy Conn crafted. I am a big fan of romances and Claudy continuously delivers outstanding stories with characters that just draw you in and take hold not only of your imagination, but of your heart.

I read the kindle version of this book and absolutely loved it so I just had to listen to it as well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Cherry. I love all Claudy Conn's strong willed heroines.

Have you listened to any of Valerie Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't but I thoroughly enjoyed her narration.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the whole book as I always do with Claudy Conn's stories.

I just have to say that I am addicted to Claudy Conn's historicals. Her writing and attention to detail always make for an amazing read. Claudy is one author who never disappoints.
Cherry is a very headstrong woman who has been told by her mother that she is promised to a gentleman whom she has never met. Cherry doesn't want anything to do with marrying this man and instead runs away. She bumps into Sky, a wealthy man in need of a wife to help raise his unruly younger siblings. Sky has agreed to to marry a woman he has never met, but when he runs into Cherry all he wants is to get to know her better. Sky hires Cherry to be his sibling's governess and and no longer wants to marry the woman he had agreed to.
This book will have you laughing and I love the attraction between Cherry and Sky. If you like historicals with a little romance, and a little humor than this is your book.

Great story. Great Narration!

What a fun read. I really liked the heroine Cherry, she was strong, funny, witty, didn't take any crap from anyone. I liked the story line and the all the secondary characters. The chemistry between Cherry and Sky was great, there was some great sex and lots and lots of dialogue. (I love dialogue in books).

This story was fairly short so it wasn't full of fillers, moved along very nicely and flowed very well.

As for the narration, She did a fantastic job. All the men sounded like men, and everyone had their own distinct voice. She read with feeling and emotion. Great job Valerie Gilbert. I would definitely listen to her again!

I read this book and finished it and left a 5 star review on March 29, 2013 on Amazon. Then it came out on audible and it was only $1.99 since I owned the book. So, like a dummy, I bought it.What an absolute nightmare. Cherry, Sky, Freddy, Felix, Frannie and James all sounded the same: Like a girl. The worst part is when Sky and Cherry had sex. It was like listening to 2 girls. Needless to say, I'm not finishing this audio. I'll just remember how good it was just reading it. I would never listen to Valerie Gilbert again. When a narrator can't even TRY to lower her voice to sound manly she shouldn't be a narrator.

I suggest you listen to the sample and listen when Sky talks to Cherry and you'll see that I'm right.

this book was a pleasure to listen to the narrator was great this is the story of a young woman who is destined to rub people the wrong way. She is not at all the typical woman of this time period A time when arranged marriages are very common and oh my you just did not show any type of strong headed thoughts . Well we have Cherry who has been told she will marry Sky, a good catch for any young woman. Cherry will have none of this, she WILL marry for love or not at all. She runs away and encounters a handsome devil and so begins a battle between the two. Sky is promised to another and has to fulfill this promise as he has siblings that need a mother as well as to carry on the family name. But can not seem to stay away from Cherry. This story is funny and sexy and just plain entertaining. Some books are made to be on audio this is one of those. The author captured the story in such a way that you did not want to stop listening .

Sexy and funny, Cherry will have you hooked.

Oh yes it was very good. I enjoyed the book prior but gosh listening to it was wonderful

I wrote a written review from reading the book and I will put that here :) In this story we have Cherry Elton and Lord Skylar Westbrooke Cherry is sort of a wild child for the times. Her stepmother is beside herself on how to curb Cherry. She decides to marry off Cherry as she is of age and needs to calm down. Cherry however wants no part of it and decides to take off in the middle of the night on her horse. While riding in the night she stumbles upon a man who immediately takes her in his arms. She doesn’t know what to think of this man but immediately sparks fly and attraction is there. See the thing is her Step-Mother never told her the name of the man she had setup for her to marry . So when Cherry runs into this man (Sky Westbrooke) she has no idea that this is the man. And of course at the time Sky has no idea that it is Cherry who was to be his bride. Sky takes her in as a Governess to his unruly siblings. After having met Cherry he doesn’t want to even think of marrying the woman he had agreed to marry. The story plays out very nicely and in many parts you find yourself Laughing out Loud at Cherry’s escapades.She is a strong headed young woman. The attraction between Cherry and Sky plays out beautifully. They both want each other all the while thinking they were to be with someone else. What a comical, adorable Romance.I truly enjoyed it and I definetly would recommend it. If you like Historical Romance and a little comedy

I had read this book a couple of years ago, and listening to it on audio last week made the story fresh and interesting. I loved the narrator’s voice…she made the story adventurous and sexy!!! I connected with the heroine Cherry. She was strong, funny, and dominant. I liked the story line as well as all the secondary characters. The chemistry between Cherry and Sky was smoking, with awesome sex and banter between the two. Claudy Conn wrote a wonderful story about a strong woman and the ups and downs of her life.
