Publisher's summary

Gwyneth Carswell, an English lady banished by her father to the harsh Scottish Highlands, wants nothing more than to take her young son away from the violence of two fighting clans - her own distant kin, the MacIrwins, and their enemies, the MacGraths. She risks everything to rescue the fierce MacGrath warrior from the battlefield where he's left for dead by her clan. She only knows she is inexplicably drawn to him and he wants peace as she does. When her clan learns of her betrayal, they seek vengeance. Dare she trust the enemy more than her own family? Laird Alasdair MacGrath is driven to end two-hundred years of feuding with the MacIrwins. But by taking in and protecting Lady Gwyneth and her son, he provokes more attacks from his mortal enemy. As the danger and conflict surrounding them escalate, Alasdair and Gwyneth discover an explosive passion neither of them expected. With the arrival of a powerful man from her past, a horrible decision confronts her - give up her son or the man she loves.

I Was Carried Away to Scotland!

Would you listen to My Fierce Highlander again? Why?

Yes! I loved the tone of the narrator's voice, and his Scottish brogue, Gwyneth and Alasdair's romance, and her obvious love for her young son. I enjoyed the book very much!

Fab story - good narration - horrible direction

Listening on audible - Who on earth decided it was a good idea to create the echo chamber for the character's thoughts!?? Yikes really cheesy but the story was so good you could get past the narration problems. I was a bit dismayed that the heroine made such stupid choices - wanted to hurl the book over some bone head moves she made.

Excellent

Great, worth the time to listen. The story and the characters were so great. It pulls you in and keeps you enthralled through the whole thing. The storyline was smooth and made you feel part of it. The characters were well thought out. The narrator did a great job. I recommend it to all.

Such a Delight!

I really enjoyed this story a lot. It started with the very first sentence when I discovered the heroine carried my maiden name, through the various trials and tribulations that she faced, to the very last scene where the villains get their comeuppance. Altogether an enjoyable listen. The narrator did an excellent job as well. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a droughtlander read.

A very likeable book

Oh how I love the tall muscular Highlander books with deep voices. Vonda Sinclair made him so likeable I wanted to slap sense into the damsel in distress a couple of times. I have yet to find a man that kind. There were ups and downs in the book that certainly kept my interest. I even listened to it twice, a few months apart.

Great story

It's a god thing that this was a very good story because the narration was absolutely and positively awful. I am not a narrator or an actor but I think I could have done a better job. The story really carried this book. I enjoyed the story and stuck with it because I wanted to continue to wonder and find out "what happened next". I stuck with it until the end.
