Publisher's summary

While the world's still choked with monsters - their work is never done. Tireless and dedicated, the Aces scour the globe in pursuit of the creatures that seek to terrorize humanity. For this ongoing mission, they leave no stone unturned - and no monsters alive. Whether it be in far-off wilderness, small-town America, or among the concrete canyons of the big city, Cap'n, Gats, Joker, Digger, and Trill continue to risk their lives at the cost of their own identities to keep us safe from the things that go bump in the night.

The Earth's greatest monster killers return in six all-new tales of terror, pure pulp action-adventures that will chill and thrill you all over again, as well as make you look twice under your bed. The Aces are challenged as never before, as they face off against not only a Murderer's Row of horrors, but with their own motives and the lives they've chosen to lead. Through these stories, you will see a side of the intrepid band of adventurers that you've never seen before. Concept creator Jim Beard welcomes David White, Nancy Hansen, Jeff McGinnis, J. Walt Layne, and Teel James Glenn to aid him in continuing the Monster Aces' mission - destroy all monsters, or die trying.

Another Round of Great Adventures

Jim Beard and his co-authors return for a second round of quick short stories about the monster aces—four men and a woman who seek out monsters around the globe to destroy them. Each story is written by a different author and most are very good. We see Gilgamesh and Ponce de Leon, a vampire, and werewolves in addition to some other creepy creatures. All in all, it felt like I was picking up an old-style pulp magazine and reading a collection that would fit in nicely with the greats.

Great anthology of monster fighting tales

This collection of monster stories is the follow up to the first one. Several Authors contribute stories to it and they are all Awesome. Think of a monster hunting team like the John carpenters vampire hunter flick. A group of highly skilled badasses taking on
The monster world and eliminating them from ours. It’s a great action packed set of stories that will take you through monsters familiar and new. Highly enjoyable listen. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Monsters...be afraid, be very...

This volume was better than the first. Still a bit thin with regard to the characters, and the backstory of the Aces, but actually concludes the final story with a cliffhanger in the form of some uncharacteristic tension between two of the teammates. This volume also raises the stakes with respect to the morality of killing ALL monsters. Let's just say...regardless of how nice and well-intentioned you are...just don't be a monster...or anything that could even remotely be considered a monster. I suppose we are getting a little more depth of character for the Captain of the Aces - wait patiently for him to tell you what he wants you to know, follow his orders to the letter, and don't ask questions or try to think for yourself... Sure, he knows that he's on the side of right because he's seen some sh*t...but he should really remember Friedrich Nietzsche's advice: 'Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster'. Narration is pretty good, still with some mispronunciations, but I suppose I'm getting used to it after two volumes...
