Publisher's Summary

Hurt feelings severed the relationship between Mari and her sister following the tragic deaths of their parents. A single mom, Mari has dedicated her life to her daughter and avoided her sister since the reading of her parents' will. In desperate need of rest and relaxation, Mari decides to use the beach house she inherited for the first time since her parents' deaths, which is located on the island Mari loved so much that she named her daughter after it.
Doing so causes a chain of events that begin soon after her arrival on the island. First, her daughter believes that the house is haunted - lights that randomly turn on, whispers of the wind, and rooms that no longer exist, exist. Next, Mari discovers she's not the only one in search of a much-needed vacation time. Her estranged sister, her quirky aunt, and the visitor only Mari's daughter can see all make appearances and change the course of all their plans.
To complicate matters, an old flame is rekindled, and Mari is left trying to make sense of it all. Can all be forgiven? Or are some sins completely unforgivable? Will all the shattered and missing pieces of their lives finally come together and bring peace to this family?

Miller's Island

This was a fantastic story of lost love reunited, extended family and summer vacations. Mary and Travis search for each other for years and finally are able to connect again. Meanwhile Teresa, Mary's sister, is loosing her sanity being around the sister she's has named public enemy # 1. And I just love Aunt Frankie and the touch of paranormal in this story. Great narration!

Finding Lost Love is a Special Gift

Where does Miller's Island rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank this in my top 30 of all of the audiobooks I have listend to. This book had several interesting issues all happening at the same time. There was the setting at the beach which gave me a pleasant feeling of being on an island in a small community where everyone knows everyone else. The main character, Mary and her daughter Miller (she was named after the island on which she was born) have returned for a summer vacation to the house her parents left to her when they passed away. At first, young teen Miller was not happy to leave her friends for the summer but soon her life takes an interesting turn that changes her entire life. Mary's sister Teresa and her family show up at the same time accidentally and Mary asks them to stay. Teresa has always had ill feelings towards Teresa and proceeds to make life miserable for the whole bunch. To add to this, the house is lovingly "haunted" by some long lost family and adds an interesting twist to this amazing story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Miller's Island?

I really enjoyed it when Miller met the island vet known as "Doc" and she volunteered at "The Sanctuary", an animal rescue site. She loves animals and finds her summer fun with them.
Without "spoiling" the book, this reference to Doc is related to my heading for this review.

What does Meghan Kelly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Meghan Kelly once again has shown her amazing voice talent in this book. The various character's voices are perfectly chosen and I feel as if I have some new friends in this book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Mary's sister, Teresa has been diagnosed as being "Bi-Polar" and this explains her hateful attitude towards Mary. Teresa's husband shows such amazing love for his wife and exhibits the wonderful characteristics of a loving husband.

Any additional comments?

I hope to read more books by Leona Bryan especially if Meghan Kelly narrates them.
I received this audiobook from Meghan Kelly in exchange for a review. Thanks so much Meghan
