Publisher's summary

Liz's son Brent has been deployed to a dangerous place in the Middle East. Recently retired, Liz has promised Brent she will volunteer at Pam's animal shelter, and tries not to worry about her boy while he's in harm's way. Then homeless Al rescues a dog he names Max from a gang of boys and brings him to Pam's shelter.

Liz is convinced no one will ever adopt the little terrier mix because of Max's standoffish attitude and homely appearance. But there's just something about Max that tugs at Liz's heartstrings. And when Brent confronts her via Skype, Liz has to admit it. She's a lot like Max, and that attitude has hindered her own relationships. Certainly she could have deeper friendships with her friends at Fast Paws Agility, at the shelter, and with Adelle, the young woman Liz thinks may have a feelings for her son.

Change is hard. But Liz wants to become more open to accepting the caring of others. And she prays Max does, too.

This is audiobook two of the Capturing the Heart of Agility series. Each story is written to stand on its own or be enjoyed after the preceding volume. Breeze is the first audiobook of the series.

Max Capturing the Heart of Agility Book 2

Max is a street dog, but he may have not always been. Liz's son leaves for his new job assignment in the middle east, and she is in need of something to keep her occupied, besides worrying of course. So she promises him she will volunteer at the animal shelter. This is where she ends up meeting max and he is having nothing to do with pretty much anyone. The story moves at a good pace and is just a sweet heartfelt story. I loved how Al got a HEA as well. Really fun story. Wendy Rich Stetson does an amazing job on the narration.

Awesome Listen!!!

I was immediately pulled into this book by C.S. Bills featuring Max. This story is a standalone listen and part of a series. I loved the imagery, the realistic characters, and how the story flowed. The author included some very surprising twists which added to the book. I am a dog lover, and admire those who work in rescue. I think that Wendy Rich Stetson added to the book with her emotional performance. She added such raw feelings that I found tears in my eyes in regards to an old stray. Max may not have won a beauty contest, but he was so endearing. I also loved how some of the supporting characters added to the book with their stories. This book is so much more than a dog story.

Wonderful story & writing

What an enjoyable story about humans and their dog’s. Unpredictable and yanked at my heartstrings. I was hanging on & hopeful for Max but could have never guessed what his amazing journey had in store. An easy comfortable read that had me in tears & then cheering all for one precious pup. Highly Recommend.
