A Pleasurable Listen

I enjoyed all three audiobooks in this series (Love Comes Softly, Love's Enduring Promise and Love's Long Journey) and hope the same narrator will continue in this series. I found her voice quite easy to listen to and especially appreciated her differnt voices for different characters.
The best way I can describe this book (and the whole series for that matter) would be the feminine and Christian equivalent of many Louis L'Amour novels. With vivid descriptions of life on the frontier - I came away with a deep appreciation for women's contribution to frontier life survival and for the value of faith in each character's lives.

skip this, book's wonderful, but horrible voice

she sounds like a kindergarten teacher teaching to a bunch of 5 year olds.
and the different voices sound like 3 and 4 year olds, instead of adults.

performance terrible

The reader pauses and gulps and smacks her lips throughout the whole performance. If I didn't love this book so much I would send it back.

Good story, narrator not my favorite.

I really wish there was an option to listen to this book from a different narrator. It takes a lot for me to complain but the wet mouth sounds almost ruined it for me. I have always loved this series and it bums me out to have a negative experience with it. If I am listening with my headphones, it is absolutely awful. I have to put my phone on speaker to listen and it’s still gross but not as bad. 5 stars for the book, 1 for the narrator.

I've read all of Love Comes Softly; I've watched the whole series on DVD. Now that I am visually impaired, Audio Books are truly a blessing.

Good story annoying narrator

I like this book but the narrator has a very grating voice and also there’s a lot of strange pausing and TONS of wet mouth sounds/smacking sounds that made me constantly cringe. Also the voice she uses for Missy is like nails on a chalk board. If this wasn’t included w my subscription I would have returned it for a refund.

Excellent read

I was so surprised by how different the book was from the movie, but I couldn’t stop listening. Such a good book.

Good book, terrible performance!

I really dislike the reader….yes, I know it is the same 50 year old lady that read the first book, but I am glutton for punishment. Her voices are really terrible; it is annoying.
