Publisher's Summary

Ellen's relationship to Andy doesn't just seem perfect on the surface, it really is perfect. She loves his family and everything about him, including that he brings out the best in her. That is, until Ellen unexpectedly runs into Leo. The one who got away. The one who brought out the worst in her. The one she can't forget. This is a story about why we chose to love the ones we love, and why we just can't forget the ones who aren't right for us.

Critic Reviews

"Giffin's snappy prose makes Ellen's dilemma compelling, once again proving she's at the top of the chick-lit pack." ( Booklist)

Heartwarming.. Couldn't stop listening!

I am a big fan of Emily Giffin, but this book was by far my favorite. This story really hit home for me because I know that I have often wondered, "what if." I was so pleased to see that Giffin tackled this question with an honest and accurate portrayal of the questions that we often find ourselves asking throughout life. Like her other books, I found myself understanding the characters, without necessarily agreeing with them. I was so enthralled with the story and I could not stop listening to it!!

not as good as her other books

if you enjoyed something blue or baby proof, this lastest book might be a bit disappointing. The character lacks the depth required to feel for her and her situation. She just seems silly and selfish, instead of someone who is going through a real, emotional struggle. I generally enjoy emily giffin's books, but one is less than stellar.
