Publisher's summary

Jervey Tervalon is a QPBC New Voices Award-winner and critically-acclaimed author of the national best seller Dead Above Ground. Kirkus Reviews calls his sequel, Lita, "Hair-raising and hellish."

After her mother's death, Lita Du Champ is left to care for her younger twin sisters. She decides to take them to the bright, busy city of L.A. to start a new life with her husband and children. But moving to L.A. does not solve her problems. Ten years after leaving, she is called back to New Orleans, where she must face her dying father and deal with the ghosts of her past.

Tervalon climbs inside Lita's mind to reveal a character full of pain and confusion, but also strength. Narrator Myra Lucretia Taylor captivates listeners with her raw emotional portrayal of a woman rediscovering himself.

Lita the woman

If you listened to dead above ground first then that would give you the first half of this story. Truly both books are good and i have both read them and listened to them on audio recording.

Lita's life after new orleans. Fills in the blanks in a realistic way. Tervey did not sugar coat the reality that Lita and her family had to face. He also explains more of the aftermath of what happened after the horrendous ordeals between the duchamps and lucien.

I'm still wondering

This book had no story line. It is confusing and hard to follow. I'm still wondering what was the point of taking time to write a story that really made no sense.

I chose the title because I like Myra Lucretia Taylor's narrating style and she did an excellent job with what she had.

Maybe there is something that I'm missing.
