*sigh* My Favorite of the Series!
Any additional comments?
Narration - Julia Motyka - Really Good
Sigh...I think this may have ended up being my favorite of this series. It's so sweet and Adam is such a Fabulous character. So romantic, patient and kind.
Rebecca has an accident, bonks her head and loses her memory on the day that they are planning to tell their family that they are getting married early (that day in fact).
She doesn't remember anything...not her family, her life, her fiance.
I'm sure many could find a lot of fault in this entire series. There's some things that some people have debated in their reviews of all of the books in this series and when I read what they say, I can agree with them, but not enough to sway my opinion or really just my enjoyment of the series.
These books aren't full of sex, there is a little violence, but nothing graphic, there are secrets kept and lies of omission. At the heart of them, they are, for the most part, just stories about a family of men that are too good to be true and their road to finding their wonderful wives (and children) that are too good to be true. For me though, they just hit the right spot.
Sweet, Romantic stories that made me cry and made me happy and made me wish I had me a Grayson man!
I hope there will be more books added to the series. It appeared to me that she hinted at a Leo book and his search for his brothers. If so, I shall be on board!

PERFECTION-Descriptions of My Back Yard (Read On)
What made the experience of listening to Leave It for the Rain the most enjoyable?
I had no idea that this historical book was placed in what could be described as my back yard! While I'm from a more remote area of Maine, the ship building and logging industries Wendy Lindstrom describes are right out of the mouths of my grandparents (Great Depression era). Though this book is set years before that.
The opening scene includes a log jam on the river. Throughout the book the details of sea captain's, shipbuilders and lumber tycoons homes and MOST importantly to me (my heritage) the observations of the men tending their lobster pots, their attire, etc.
While technology has changed things a lot, the craftsmen of today's shipbuilding is still beautiful. The commercial lobster fisherman still haul traps and logging is still a way of life for many of my family, friends and neighbors. Wendy Lindstrom really did her homework - if not having lived in Maine for a time.
While the history and novelty of the book was a fantastic surprise, the story of Adam & Rebecca was just as impressive. I'm a fan of this series and could not wait for Leave it to The Rain to come to audio. However, I wasn't sure how the telling of Adam & Rebecca's story could be unique...was I ever wrong...right from the start is action and then the expected relationship progression takes a major twist.
The way that each character adjusts to this unexpected turn is everything you would expect a 'real' family and community would react. As everyone tries to recovery, we learn things of the past as well as the current circumstances-some good, some bad.
I want to write more but will refrain as I don't want to accidentally reveal 'spoilers', so I'll stop with this. While each of the Grayson Series books can stand alone, if you can, read the series from the beginning. You will know the background of the characters better (and they are great books) and that adds to the richness of each story.
Love, love, loved Leave it for the Rain.
What about Julia Motyka’s performance did you like?
She is very good, no matter where I had to shut the book off-the second I turned it back on I knew exactly who was speaking. This is not easy especially with such a large 'cast.'
Any additional comments?
NOTE: No 'warnings' necessary. Sweet romance with nothing inappropriate
Credit/$ Worthiness: YES!!!! While I willingly would have used a credit (as I did the previous 4 & purchased the novella on sale) I was *given a copy in exchange for my thoughts and review.* AGAIN, I would have happily used a credit and been satisfied if needed.
