What did you like most about Le roi de fer (Les rois maudits 1)?
IThe narration of the book was perfect, in my opinion. The voice makes the characters alive, gives them presence. I would not have had the same pleasure reading the book.
What other book might you compare Le roi de fer (Les rois maudits 1) to, and why?
I do not know at all, because that's not the kind of reading I'm used to. I read fantastic and fantasy, but it's not the same kind so I can not compare.
Have you listened to any of François Berland’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes, I listened to the book THE PERFUME, and the narrator knew how to give the same life to the characters, and make the story really nice. For me, the performances are equal, but I would say that the book The Parfume had a more pronounced, more dancing writing with the words, so the narration was even more incredible for the Perfume.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not specifically, but some people have more reasoned in me, like the last Templars, the infidel sisters, and their naive lovers. I found the king more bland.
Any additional comments?
As for Le Parfum, I'm not sure I could have read this book, but I loved listening to it. I really like the narrator, I really appreciate this style of voice, the type of narration. It interprets the voices giving them just what it takes of life, it does not have a voice too low or too acute, in short it was a pleasure and I think listen to the sequel! I am the type to do my audio research by narrators that I enjoyed.
