Publisher's summary

Ten years ago, the Black Rapture transported thousands of people, seemingly at random, from Earth to the strange, inimical world they call the Labyrinth. Will Teller was one of them. Surviving that meant joining an army and becoming better at killing than he's comfortable with. It's enough upheaval for anyone's life. The only problem is, apparently no one told his commanding officer that.

Pride, and heart, stung by abandonment, the icily controlled General Nathan Kearney has decided that Teller can either find the wayward lover, or he can take his place in Nathan's bed. That's pretty good motivation for a straight guy, only thing is - Teller's sexuality seems to have gone a bit Magic-8 Ball on that issue. Suddenly Nathan's starting to look pretty good, and the only question is whether or not Teller wants to be the consolation prize?

okay but

I liked a lot of this book but it needed "more." Maybe this is a series of stories. I don't know. A little bit of description, a little backstory about the situation would have been nice. Plus, the ending seems like it should read "to be continued."

Cliffhanger. No 2nd book

I bought this on the summer sale. I have been enjoying TA Moore work, but I have quickly noticed she doesn't finish anything she starts. Lots of book 1, maybe a 2 in a series, no follow-up.
( I did check to see if she was still around. She is. So maybe just not writing anymore)?

We have a civilization of humanity that was kidnapped from Earth 10 years ago and dropped on this planet. In that time , they split into different groups. We really don't get how they got split up.
The story unfolds as a military type group that has the best advantage of everything is trying to find a missing soldier.

To me, the premise of the story was well done and kept me entertained. But the whole thing was choppy, and I had to back up the audio a couple of times to see if I missed something. Basically, it needs a good edit. Then, of course, the story just stopped. Cliffhanger end. With no other book out and this release in 2016( something I did not pay attention to), I'm assuming we will never get one.

As far as the narration, that was spot on. And I enjoyed it very much.
