"An ambitious, funny, lucid and unfailingly honest novel....No other writer has yet synthesised [the coming of age in the 60's] as well as Ms. Alther has." (The New Yorker)

Listening to the abridged version was a total waste - I will never get an abridged version again. This abridged version should have an X rating since it seemed to focus only on the sex and jealousy and not the story. Because of this, I have no idea what the point was or what the story was. Plus, I listed to this for book group.... from what my groupmates are saying, I've missed 3/4 of the book so probably won't be able to add much this week.
not agreed to produce an abridged version of her book.
wish i could get my money back... this was a total disappointment.
