The witches set up shop in the sleepy little town of Caldron Falls, Wisconsin. By enabling the good citizens to settle old scores, they hoped to transform the town into a virtual coliseum of televised revenge. It didn't take long before a few inconvenient and unexpected dead bodies began to pile up. To complicate matters, Caldron Falls just happens to have more than its fair share of paranormal creatures, not to mention a Chicago mobster seemingly bent on taking over the town.

Can Esmeralda and Kelly solve the rash of unexplained deaths before they get the blame and end up behind bars? What will Marie Laveau and the Witches Union have to say about this? And, as any fool knows, karma carries a roundtrip ticket.

Oh how I loved this book. It is a little bit different of a story about witches and all the trouble they can get into (and some of them are quite comical). This is a new series for me that I will definitely keep listening to.

a fun witty paranormal mystery...

This book was great. It is a fun witty paranormal mystery. It has witches and werebears, imps, vampires, demons and so on. I particularly liked the character of the frog. He was hilarious. I really loved the section where karma was going to bite the butt of a fake author for plagiarism! I love how this author combines reality with fantasy and it all makes sense.

The author, Melanie James did an awesome job on this book. I laughed from beginning to and. it was very entertaining. The narrator, Holly Jackson delivered a flawless narration to us with authentic accents and the works. Well done both of you! This was so good, I read / listened to the entire book in 1 day.

Fun story, disappointing reader

Is there anything you would change about this book?

A little faster development of the story up front so the ending didn't have to be so crushed into such a short space. The ending seemed rushed and the resulting experience was jarring.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were fun, and there was some really great play with language that made me laugh.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Greatly detracted from the book. The short clipped sentences devoid of much emotion were hugely disappointing. There were interesting characters in the writing that just weren't brought to life by this narrator.

Do you think Karma Inc. needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

If the follow-up story were read by a different narrator I think the characters could definitely carry on in a new plot line.

Fun and sexy paranormal

What did you love best about Karma Inc.?

The narrator, Hollie Jackson, had a distinctive voice for each character which made them come to life as I listened. The story is fast paced with fascinating details regarding Ms. James paranormal world.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kelly is my favorite character because she is independent, smart, honest and snarky. She doesn't apologize for who she is but accepts full responsibility for her actions.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Gertie was stoned after inhaling some of Max's "cigar" smoke. Gertie made me laugh out loud with her remarks as she was experiencing being high.

Who was the most memorable character of Karma Inc. and why?

Barney, the imp, is totally irreverent and totally shameless. He is what he is and makes no excuses for himself.

I have a new favorite!

This series has been so entertaining,sexy and so so much fun to listen too! It's literally like a great girlfriend over for a night of fun. I would listen to it all again.

Where does Karma Inc. rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is definately at the top of my list with my other Melanie James audio books... I love the voices. Hollie Jackson is amazing!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have always been a huge fan of Gertie she is so funny.. But then I love them all. Who wouldn't love them all once you start listening to this series.

Melanie James does it again! I love love love it!. This is another one for my list that I will listen to again and again. I honestly cannot get enough of this series.

Karma Inc. by Melanie James was a great read. It was hilarious and made me laugh so hard at times. Kelly and Esmerelda are two witches that find a knack for dark magic. They start a new business called Karma In. to help people who want to give karma a nudge. But as it always does for the friends, things don't ever really go right for the witches. I loved reading this spin-off of the Literal Leigh series. I can't wait to read more by Melanie James.

I love the way Melanie weaves humour, sarcasm, romance, magic and paranormal together in a real life believable way ... I want all these characters to be REAL and live in my town

OMG ... I adore Hollie Jackson and how she reads ... all her characters are my favorites

Melanie's audio books should come with a warning ... don't try to eat while listening ... it's dangerous to laugh and chew food

Absolutely! Between Melanie's writing and Hollie bring it to life, you could not have asked for a better story!

What other book might you compare Karma Inc. to and why?

There is no other book I would compare Karma to! Melanie's entire series (starting with Leigh) has been something entirely different from anything I have read! These books are one of a kind!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Once you turn this on, you do not want to shut it off! I find it easier to start listening to this at night when I will have no interruptions and I am able to listen to as much as I want!

Witches, Shifters, and Imps OH MY!!

This book had me laughing right until the end. It was such a light and comical read, but did have a great story line as well. I thought it was written very well and that made for a quick read. I absolutely loved every character in the story and thought the author did an amazing job with the main characters. I loved Kelly because she was skeptical yet goes with the flow kind of witch. Barney the Imp made the story for me. Who doesn't love a rude, smart *** imp? He was always up to no good and when he got caught in the ceiling fan I thought I would die from laughter. Also, I thought Gabe brought a lot to the book. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, but he's not what you think. Paranormal reads are my favorite and this book had it all. If you like books with a variety of paranormal creatures who make you laugh with every page, this is your book. Reviewed for Headtripping Books by Leandra.
