Publisher's summary

From the award-winning writer R. Barri Flowers and best-selling author of the heartfelt relationship novel, Forever Sweethearts, comes a compelling contemporary novelette, Kaanapali Beach Paradise.

Set amidst the lush playground of Maui, Hawaii's famed Kaanapali Beach Resort, the soap opera style tale of adultery, ambition, dark secrets, love, lust, hate, romance, betrayal, revenge, and murder, revolve around the anticipated grand opening of Kaanapali Palms Hotel, the latest luxury accommodation on this three mile-long ocean front stretch of paradise on the island's western shore.

Ben Crawford is a multimillionaire real estate investor and CEO of Kaanapali Palms. A widower, his 19-year-old daughter Leigh is his pride and joy. Forgotten is the child he abandoned long ago, never imagining it would come back to haunt him.

Leigh Crawford is beautiful, spoiled, precocious, and just looking to have fun at her daddy's new luxury hotel. After meeting hot Hawaiian chauffeur Masami, things get hot in a hurry. But how far can they go before crash landing?

Yoshiko Pelayo is a gorgeous Hawaiian journalist, who has taken a job in housekeeping at the Kaanapali Palms, while plotting revenge against the father she never knew in Ben Crawford.

Stewart McGann is a retired police detective from Portland, Oregon, after getting hurt on the job, who is brought to Maui to head the security at Kaanapali Palms. The offer is made easier by his attraction to housekeeper Yoshito, even if he senses there is more to her than meets the eye.

Genevieve Roswell fled San Francisco to escape bad elements and ended up on Maui. Now she fears her past may be about to catch up to her.

Kaanapali Beach Paradise is the first in a continuing series of novelettes that promises to keep listeners engaged as lives and loves are turned upside down with twists at every turn amid the splendor of a famous Hawaii beach resort.

This is not a "novelette"

Rather than being a novelette which would have an ending, this is a series of sample champters from several different mystery stories set in Hawaii. I feel like I got charged for an advertisement. The writing is pretty amateurish too.

Not a full book

This isn’t a full book, it’s part of one story then an excerpt of another. Too many characters, plot lines, and I have no idea what just happened.

Smooth interesting read

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Kaanapali Beach Paradise is a prettily written story that revolves around 3 different families. The story is written smoothly and the chararacters are interesting, but it ends without a conclusion, which I found offputting.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Romance?
