Publisher's Summary

Please Note: This audiobook is in Spanish.

El libro no está completo

Would you try another book from Isabel Allende and/or Isabel Varas?

What about Isabel Varas’s performance did you like?

Not my favorite Allende novel, and it was poorly produced

The woman narrating the novel had a very pleasant voice, though at times it was a little precious, but I couldn't tell if it was the writing or her interpretation.

The production values of the audiobook were horrible. The producers included a soundtrack that was distracting at best and totally inappropriate at its worst, and there was too much of it . Whoever chose the music clearly hadn't read the book, and I am giving that person the benefit of the doubt, because if they had read the book and still chose the tunes they chose, that person needs to find another career.

This novel takes place in the 16th century in Spain, Peru and Chile. Intro and outro music for chapters and sections was mostly "America, The Beautiful." Battle scenes were underscored with "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" Toward the end of the novel they saturated the underscoring with "Flight of the Valkyries" from Wagner's Ring Cycle. All three tunes are super recognizable, and totally inappropriate. It made the audiobook practically un-listenable.
