Give us more Gerri Hill. The chemistry and portrayal of the character was great. I loved the evolution.

This book is my absolute fav. when the Audible version came out, I had to have it. Tori is such a strong character that allows the listener to join her in her thoughts and work. Sam compliments her in so many ways. I feel a bond with these characters that I feel hurt theres an ending.

I was impressed by this one, as the previous one from Gerri Hill did not have the same spark as this one. It's a f/f romance which develops between a brash detective in Dallas homicide and her newly assigned Partner (who did not realise she was actual a lesbian). The relationship develops as they go about solving a string of murders.
Very well narrated by Abbey Craden, and the story moves quickly and the romance develops in a perfect manner. The action scenes are very well done. The only reason for four stars is a bit of awkwardness in a few areas (the department's head response to Hunter is always the same sequence (wth, no, well okay, be careful), some of the romance was too close, time wise to the crime events, so didn't feel realistic, one character changed his homomorphic views too quickly, imo). But I don't what to dwell on these as they are just thoughts for improving. It's one of the top f/f romance/crime stories in audiobook format at moment.

Loved the way the characters were brought to live. The love story going on did not distract from the criminal story line it enhanced it. Can't wait for all her books to be available on Audible.

Hey anyone else trawling through here trying to find some lesbian romance that isn't squicky trash - try this one!
The characters feel like like real normal humans. I cackled at quite a few of their scenes. Hits a number of the romance buttons and largely avoids tacky lines. The sex scenes won't make you roll your eyes, and there is a plot that is not just hastily stilting up a series of romance scenes.
Also, the performance by Abby Craden is fantastic and her voice suits the book quite well. I may have a slight crush on her.
Excellent storyline. Crazed, homophobic psychopath goes on a brutal killing rampage. Somehow the author manages to weave a beautiful love story into the plot, which softens the violence and adds to the intrigue. It's hard not to listen to the story in one sitting... It's so captivating!
You will love this book if you're into mystery, crime or thrillers. I chose it because I love lesbian crime novels and this is one of my favourites to date. (Sorry Katherine V. Forrest).
The only thing that didn't satisfy my curiosity was how or why the main protagonists family was murdered. I wanted the author to develop that storyline. But then again that would have been difficult and I'm probably just being greedy. The title didn't grab me either, but I'm glad I don't always go by titles or book covers.
