Good story/liked the characters

I am familiar with Robyn Carr's Virgin River Series. You would never realize that this book was by the same author as it isn't a romance. It is a great read because the different female characters had interesting lives. I feel that the author gave a lot of insight into their development and you will find yourself thinking how you know someone like them, or feel that you can identify with some of their situations. It was a wonderful story of how these women all came to be in each other's lives. I also liked the book publishing thread that was woven into the plot.

Wrong Genre

This is such a good book that it needs to be in regular fiction, not in romance. Robyn Carr is a good author, her Virgin River series is comprised of books with interesting characters, plots and places, but her dialog from the male characters is so flawed that I am constantly reminded that they are "romance novels"

The main characters of this book are women, fully developed characters. Read it you will love it.

New street for Carr

This is such a good story. Very different from anything I have read from this author. I appreciate the attention to detail in this book. I just loved it. Good to know another facet of Ms. Carr. Appreciated the narration. Thank you Ms. Carr & Audible.

Loved the story - not so much the narrator.

Robyn Carr doesn't deal with torture and really grotesque murder. I love her characters but I felt this narrator did a horrible job with the male voices. She made them totally without feeling and I didn't appreciate it. This won't deter me from future Robyn Carr stories. I only discovered her a few months ago and I read all of the Virgin River stories. They're light and they offer the perfect escape that I long for with these books.

Worth the read. Terrible narration.

The book was quite lovely. It was inspirational and reflective. Not a must read, but a "worth the read." However, the narration was awful. If she would have just stuck to one or two characters that would have been great, but the way she tried to do so many different characters was just too much. She failed miserably. Again, the book is a good "chick book" though. :-) I would recommend it. Just don't expect much from the narrator.

Worst Robyn Carr Book

Therese Plummer must have me spoiled, I couldn't listen to this book at all. It was the worst narrated book I've ever listened to. I've never disliked a Robyn Carr Book until now, since I was unable to listen to the entire thing I have no idea if it was indeed a good read.

Wonderful, poignant story! Great characters.

Four friends, four authors, drawn closer together by the loss of their best friend. As an author of more than 30 years, I felt a kinship with all of the characters. So much truth about the publishing world. Surprisingly, this is my first time reading Robin Carr. Can't wait to read so many more!!

Narrator Christina Moore did a fabulous job with the characters! I will definitely be looking for more audio books narrated by her.

Narrator ruined this whole book

I couldn't get into the story at all since the Narrator's voice was so "old" sounding. Way too raspy and not in a good way. As you listen to a book, you try to visualize what the characters look like and I couldn't get close as this raspy old voice ruined it for all the women young and old. Trying to visualize the Men in this was even worse. She made them sound like they were all 90 years old and dumb. I Love Robyn Carr books, especially the Virgin River Series, but this one I can't finish. I guess I might have to read it if I want to finish it.

Wonderful Story

I love books by Robyn Carr. This is a stand alone story, and I laughed and I cried. The only problem with the book is the amount of off color words, and the swearing. I had to keep turning it down when my grandkids came into the room. Since I told you about the language, I recommend this book highly.
