Publisher's Summary

When Jimmy McSwain is hired to find missing heir Harris Rothschild, he finds that identities can be altered and lives can be changed - or taken with the simple pull of the trigger. Jimmy McSwain is a New York City private detective, operating out of Hell's Kitchen, the rough and tumble neighborhood he grew up in. At age 14, he watched as his NYPD father was gunned down. Now, at age 28, and gay, Jimmy has never given up pursuit of whoever killed him. But a PI must make a living, and so he's taken on the case of missing heir Harris Rothschild, whose overbearing father doesn't approve of his "alternate" lifestyle.
Tracking down Harris is easier than expected, but the carnage that follows isn't. With a shocking murder on his hands, and a threat coming from some unforeseen person, Jimmy's caseload is suddenly full, and very dangerous.

More Jimmy

I loved this story and really hope to see more of Jimmy. This story (and hopefully series) reminded of the Infected series by Andrea Speed; minus the shifter element. Jimmy is a PI that grew up in Hell’s Kitchen with 1st generation Irish parents. Joel Leslie does a masterful Irish accent as a result. He witnessed his father’s death 15 years ago (murder?) and has never got over it. So while the story is primarily about solving a missing person case, the unsolved death of his father is also part of it. Warning though, that is not solved in this installment; along with some other relationship issues. There is a romance in this installment, but I’m not confident it is the ultimately relationship for Jimmy as the story introduces other potential suitors. And of course Jimmy has commitment issues. All and all this could be a really great series and I look forward to the next installment. Joel Leslie continues to be one of my favorite narrators and gives an awesome performance and brings this story to life.

Gay Noir

A fast paced gay noir mystery. The protagonist is a hunky gay New York PI who is hired to find the missing gay son of a wealthy couple and gets entangled in a murder mystery. Along the way he's having hot sex and a little romance while angsting over the murder of his father fifteen years ago. It works well as a stand alone but I hope there will be sequels to follow.
Joel Leslie's excellent narration gives each character a distinctive voice that adds to the experience.
