Publisher's summary

The feud between the Graces and the Gaynors is still going strong more than a century after its inception in the 1891 Oklahoma land run. Newspaper editor Penn Hardy is murdered during the reenactment of the most famous gunfight in the history of Grace Gulch, Oklahoma. Cici Wilde, owner of a vintage clothing store, feels compelled to investigate when police suspect people close to her. She soon discovers her talent for sleuthing equals her flair for wearing period clothing. Theater director Audie Howe never expected the reenactment to end in a real murder. He cares too much for the future of the Magda Grace Mallory Theater - and the charming Cici Wilde - to let her face danger alone. Cici and Audie take a dangerous gamble to nail the killer - and lay their lives on the line.

I couldn't finish it

This seemed like it would be a good book, however I couldn't finish it. The characters are flat and stereotypical. Their actions are unbelievable and the pacing is slow. I got fed up and returned the book after chapter 6.

Great Clean Mystery Linked to History of Town

Grace Gulch, Oklahoma has an outdoor reenactment of the famous Gaynor/Grace gunfight of 1891 every year . . . with the whole town participating . . . Cici Wilde owns the vintage clothing store and helps everyone dress for the occasion . . . but when the unimaginable happens, and the gun play turns out to really kill Penn Hardy, the editor of the local newspaper, Cici and her beau, Audie Howe (also the theater director) set out to find the killer . . . Cici's long time childhood friend, Cord Grace is also vying for Cici's affections . . . and to complicate things, Cord held the gun, supposedly firing blanks, that killed Penn Hardy at the reenactment . . . unearthing the original letters written by Bob Grace to Mary prior to their marriage, when Bob was contemplating acquiring land in Oklahoma, the three (Cici, Audie and Cord) begin to piece together the true history of Grace Gulch and solidify the honor of the man who first settled there . . . this is a fun, clean and godly listen . . . redemptive . . . not goody-goody in the least . . . the love shown to the "middle" sister who gets pregnant as a teenager and her parents adopt her baby, raising her as their own is such a blessing . . . and the lives of the three grown "sisters" is just as much a blessing to hear about . . . you can't go wrong with this one . . . I've already downloaded the second in the series . . .
