Bubba's back!!!

If you could sum up Grits, Guns & Glory in three words, what would they be?

Stupid browser erased my first review!!! That's six... My wife said the whole time I was listening to this I was laughing and had a grin ear to ear. Which I agree with and needed severely.

What other book might you compare Grits, Guns & Glory to and why?

I have to compare it to season 1 because Hartness is really my first "paranormal" guilty pleasure besides Butcher. Grits, Guns & Glory is a great continuation of the Bubba saga for me.

Have you listened to any of John Solo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ok this I had a huge problem with this... Feeling like I was about to rise up in open revolt my wife had to clam me down and play devils advocate for this imposter!!! I mean Mr Solo. after a good amount of tyrannical protest in my living room and resisting the urge to use my pad as target practice out back. I gave it a try and loved it. It was a pretty seamless transition.

If you could rename Grits, Guns & Glory, what would you call it?

Renaming it would be heresy

Any additional comments?

I've blown though probably 80% of Hartness's work and love it all. It's a good time and can't wait for more to come out...

Great story

I wish they brought in the same narrator from the first volume, but John Solo did a great job.

The stories were good but there was conflicting information between the first volume and the second volume. (spoiler alert) For example the promise Bubba made to the sasquatch was to kill his father and not to kill his brother. He didn't know his brother was alive. The sword was reported to have been won in a duel during WWII by his great grandfather and made of iron. In the second volume it was crafted from a native American relic and star metal specifically for his great grandfather.

I took a star off from the overall rating because of this because these small flubs could have been easily worked around to make the story work without having to rewrite and contradict the previous stories.

Overall I did really enjoy these stories and gave it 4 stars. They are great for what they're intended to be. Easy listening and entertaining.
