Love the book but....

This book was amazing, however I did not care for ANY of the narration. Especially Chippy, and Big Shirley. I wish that the original narrator's from book 1, did the performances. Chippy's character seemed like a whole new person. But overall great book. I will be purchasing the next read. Thanks Carl

A Great Read

This book is filled with twist and turns. It kept my attention from beginning to end. Awesome read.

Couldn’t put it down.

This book was truly a well written story. The plot was amazing. It really sheds light on the Duncan family and how the became successful in the business world as well as the underworld.

The characters are so vivid, so lively. Just when you think you know the entire story, they keep coming back with more, back story, and it is so stimulating. The Ms. Bettie, mama situation was super juicy, and unexpected, she is tough as nails. She is the mother of boys.

My lingering question, is how Chippy, went from a working whore at Big Shirley’s to bourgeois wife of a car/drug dealer. I know how, but it was interesting. You know how some authors go too far with sequels and they start to get monotonous, THESE AINT THOSE AUTHORS! The story is bold, consistent and maintains an awesome mental imagery (if that’s a thing). These reviews are hard, because you don’t want to spoil the body of work. I HIGHLY recommend. The evolution of the characters is simply amazing.

Anxiously anticipating more!

love this entire series, wish he could put out two books at a time because I seem to finish these faster than my other books and I end up with nothing left to read 😕

I am enjoying this prequel series just as much much as the Family Business series. The storyline and plot were spot on.

Carl is an amazing author with so many twist and turns to this adventurous story.. This is only my second book, but now I have a new favor author and its you CARL!!
