Publisher's summary

The Gateauxs' and the Wileys' feud didn't match the ferocity of the Hatfields' and the McCoys' but they didn't like each other. The other members of the warring families could not stop the marriage of Jacque and Mellissa Jane. Boo was the product of that union.

Jacque taught a reluctant Boo to fight at the tender age of four.

His elementary school days were highlighted in a battle with the 2nd grade class bully. Boo's training in fisticuffs paid off and he wiped the bully for pushing the little girl he had a crush on and making her cry.

His middle school days were marred when a district scout leader sat by him in a downtown movie and attempted to molest him. The event was a deep dark secret he shared with no one but it kindled a hate for "dirty queers" the words used in his day and time to describe people that were gay.

His high school was filled with the boxing team, the drama club, outrageous pranks, and employment at the local radio station.

He continued as a disk jockey on 12 radio stations for 30 years. The profession introduced him to many humorous and unusual characters and celebrities. He was married five times and one wife in a fit of jealous rage shot him. In his latter years a phone call reconnected him with a childhood friend who had been more like a brother then a friend. In the course of the conversation the relation of his youth mentioned that he was gay.

Boo now has to struggle with his hate of gays brought about by the scout leader and a friendship he has treasured for many years
