Publisher's summary

I didn't expect to spend my annual company party sobbing in a photo booth, wearing nothing but a homemade grass skirt and a pair of coconuts. I also didn't expect to lose my apartment, my job, and my boyfriend in a rapid series of embarrassing events. Events that, unfortunately, also landed me in a bit of hot water, and left me with a secret that only money can fix.

So when the opportunity arose to enter my book club buddies into a contest for a chance to win $50,000, I took it. I just forgot to tell them about it. And guess what? We won. Which poses a problem, since I didn't bother to read the fine print.

Now, I need to find a way to convince Alex and Gigi, two gems I've never even met outside of a computer screen, to recreate a girls' trip with me - photos and all - by the end of the week.

What could possibly go wrong?

Girl Tripping is a full-length, standalone chick-lit/romantic comedy novel.

It features a strong set of girlfriends, a sweet romantic interest, and some sassy heroines on the adventure of a lifetime.

Another WIN for this author! Loved it!

Online friends finally meet to help the main character Lena win a contest. Best laid plans and all that, and one disaster after another helps all the girls, and the crew of men tagging along to record the experience, find out what is really important. Loved the book – it is another WIN for this author!

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book written by Gina LaManna and narrated by Stephanie Murphy. Lena has the worst luck, she lost her apartment, her job, and her loser boyfriend who ended up keeping her dog. The only thing positive in her life are the two friends she met on her online book club. She knows the only way to get her dog back is to get enough money to pay for the surgery that the dog needs. She finds a contest and actually wins the contest to win $50,000.00. However, there is one problem; she won the contest by making up a road trip that they actually never went on. So now she needs to convince Alex and Gigi to meet and recreate the “road trip”, the only problem is that nothing goes right. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading/listening long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

The narrator Stephanie Murphy did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. She did a great job with the different characters and their voices.

If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read/listen to this book. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author. Once I started listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop until the end.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Perfect Comedic Story

I enjoyed listening to Stephanie Murphy narrate Gina LaManna's Girl Tripping. some parts were hilarious, some parts had me tearing up. This story had the perfect amount of romance along with comedy and total girl time. Perfect title to a wonderful sweet story.

Remember to Smile!

Three days of utter chaos or was it total bliss when Lena learned the true facts of life.
Alex and Gigi, 2 of the best girlfriends a person could have, an ex husband and nutty sex craved ex boss, a beloved pet dog needing surgery, a winning story, a road trip and 3 guys - all this helping to make this a LOL, tongue in cheek comedy/romance that just rolls off the pages.
And when the 'truths' of this 'lesson' that Lena had to learn began to spill out, they all realized how valuable their friendships and relationships really were.
This story was marvelous and well worth the read.
I only had a problem with the narration being too 'breathy' with Stephanie Murphy sounding out of breath at the end of almost every sentence and would suggest a serious course of 'Breathing coaching' before attempting further narration jobs.
If you love laughter and an easy read story then this is the book for you. Enjoy!

Road trippin' with my two favorite allies...

The song stuck in my head listening to this book: Road Trippin' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I recommend the song for any road trip, but I digress.

I picked this title up because I thought it would be perfect for a road trip I was taking with my daughter. Especially since the two us of love road trips and reading. Unfortunately, the narrator ruined it. The accents were overdone and made the characters disagreeable. The worst part though is that she either sounded like she just finished running a mile, was coming up for breath after a dive, or simply spoke everything through a sigh. Yes, our heroine is exasperated through much of the book but not every sentence needs a gasp for air.

When it came to the plot itself there were some holes that weren't ever filled for my liking Restraining order? What kind of expensive surgery can wait that long? "Surprise" train to DC with destination remaining such a mystery?

All of those things can be forgiven though because if you've ever had a fantasy of meeting your Goodreads friends, meeting the folks you follow on Audible, or taking a vacay with your book club, give this book a try (just read it at your destination and not on the way there). This one probably would have made 4 stars if I hadn't listened to it.
