Let the truth be retold

Gilgamesh Immortal: Chronicles of the Nephilim (Volume 3) i’ve always found the story of the epic of Gilgamesh fascinating. But when I saw this novel I thought 0h no what’s up here, Gilgamesh and The Bible. The way Brian weaves the web of the chronicles it just works. The twist at the end of the novel is almost prophetic. The retelling of history as they want it.

Great continuation of the previous books.

"Gilgamesh Immortal: Chronicles of the Nephilim Book 3" by Brian Godawa is a captivating and thought-provoking addition to the Chronicles of the Nephilim series. Released in 2012, this book continues the author's exploration of ancient biblical narratives and mythology, blending them into a unique and imaginative historical fantasy.

The book takes readers on a thrilling journey through the ancient world, weaving together elements from the Bible, Mesopotamian mythology, and other ancient texts. At the heart of the story is the legendary figure of Gilgamesh, the semi-divine king of Uruk, known for his strength and quest for immortality. Godawa masterfully reimagines this mythic character, incorporating him into the larger narrative of the Nephilim, the enigmatic beings mentioned in the Bible's Book of Genesis.

One of the strengths of this book is its meticulous research and attention to historical and mythological details. Godawa skillfully blends these elements into a cohesive and compelling narrative that offers readers a fresh perspective on familiar biblical stories. The author's ability to transport readers to ancient civilizations and immerse them in the culture and beliefs of the time is truly impressive.

Furthermore, "Gilgamesh Immortal" delves into profound themes such as the pursuit of immortality, the consequences of power and hubris, and the clash of mortal and divine forces. These themes add depth and complexity to the story, making it more than just an action-packed adventure.

The characters in the book are well-developed and relatable, and readers will find themselves emotionally invested in their journeys and struggles. Gilgamesh, in particular, undergoes significant growth and transformation throughout the story, making him a compelling and dynamic protagonist.

While the book is part of a series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel, thanks to the author's skill in providing enough context and background information. However, readers who have followed the entire Chronicles of the Nephilim series will find deeper connections and a richer understanding of the overarching narrative.

In conclusion, "Gilgamesh Immortal" is a captivating blend of biblical history, mythology, and fantasy. Brian Godawa's storytelling prowess shines through in this book, offering readers an engaging and thought-provoking experience. Whether you're a fan of historical fiction, biblical retellings, or fantasy, this book is sure to provide an enjoyable and intellectually stimulating read.

I appreciated Brian's retelling of the Epic of Gilgamesh especially as he was careful not to leave out any details of the original. I really liked listening to the audiobook and I look forward to the next in the series. Well done Mr. Godawa

Gilgy

This story is one of the stranger ones from the series,A
zazel is about as depraved of a character as I have ever read about,Gilgamesh is such a spoiled, selfish man child, who I believe deserved all the bad things that happened to him.And this book is a delightful nightmare.
