"That was awesome," I said quietly.
"Yeah it was," he agreed.
"But I guess it won't happen again?"
He turned to face me. "And why not?"
I shrugged. "Slim."
"Slim and I are friends. Nothing more."
"I thought."
"So did he."
We stayed quiet for a moment more. "So?" I said slowly.
Jimmy came over to me. "So?"

Listenable, but the romance fell short for me.

What would have made Gay: Worth the Wait better?

I get the friends-to-lovers aspect, but Jimmy and Robby hadn't been in touch for 5 years, and in both the past and present, Jimmy was in other relationships so it seemed out of the blue for him to end up with Robby in just a few days back together. It would have been more realistic if they had both been yearning for each other from years ago. For a short story, there were too many relationships/characters that detracted from the main characters' romance.

Has Gay: Worth the Wait turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, it is currently my favorite genre and I love it!

Did Eddie Leonard, Jr. do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, the narration was fine and easy to follow.

What character would you cut from Gay: Worth the Wait?

I was put off by finding out that throughout high school, Jimmy had been in love with another bandmate and mutual friend of Robby's who died.
