Editorial reviews

"Incredible! You’ll be on the edge of your seat to see if the heroine can make it out alive." (Catherine Coulter, New York Times best-selling author, on Irresistible Force)

Publisher's summary

The only thing more powerful than fear is desire….

A seasoned K-9 officer with the police in Maryland, Cole Jamison has left her old life behind her. With a new home and a new partner - a protective canine named Hugo - Cole is ready for fresh challenges. A crucial position on an important drug task force is exactly what she wants - until she discovers her gorgeous, infuriating ex-husband will be the DEA agent in charge.

Agent Scott Lucca may be a pro when it comes to undercover assignments, but this job is daunting even for him. Posing as a happy couple on the dog competition circuit means he and Cole need to get a lot closer than they’ve been in years. Playing a live-in couple should seem like a walk in the park compared to tracking a brutal criminal, but suddenly nothing could be more dangerous than the passionate fire they’ve rekindled.

A good story line

Story had an interesting theme; however, characters were not well developed. Recommend to anyone who enjoys dog related stories.

This one was great!!

The multiple storylines coupled with the in-depth characters made this book exciting and interesting to listen to. I found myself unable to turn it off.

Force of Attraction

I didn't like this book as well as the first one in the series. Scott was rather a jerk throughout with serious daddy issues that were resolved way to easily at the end. The plot was good, but other than being hot, I didn't see many redeeming qualities in the hero. Cole was much too good for him & forgave him much too easily. That seems to be a common theme in romance stories. I'd like to see the woman make the man work for her forgiveness once in a while.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters and loved the dogs. The story plot was interesting and was fun getting to see a few agility contests and watching Hugo and Cole adjust to that from the police training. I loved Hugo's personality and how it came through with his antics. I liked Scott for the most part but he also got on my nerves some. He was so back and forth on yes and no with Cole and continued to give her whiplash throughout most of the story. He was still in love with her and wanted her back but couldn't figure out his timing and how to go about doing so and so would pull her in and then push her away, sometimes being quite mean, which was really frustrating after a point. It was too much. He did redeem himself, for the most part, and while he was frustrating, I still enjoyed the story and found it entertaining. He was just one of those characters that you want to yell out and smack upside the head to get his sh** together. There was some action and intrigue and a little twist that all worked to keep me engaged in the story. This was a fun and entertaining read.
The narrator did a good job with the story. Added a little extra to it.

Wow!!!! Loved Every Second!

Complex story with characters you can root for. I really enjoyed their flawed relationship turned partner story. The K-9 characters added so much to the story. Hugo's cleptomaniac tendencies had me laughing out loud! Definitely worth a credit! This is a book I'll listen to again and again.

If Only

This would have been an incredible book, if only Nicole (cop) and Scott (DEA agent) were as smart and lovable as their canine partners Hugo & Izzy. I found the plot too contrived and the divorced couple too immature.

Unbelievably, a violent biker from one of Scott's past undercover assignments spots Scott in a dark parking lot, and recognized him despite different hair & clothing. Then this badass biker stalks and terrorizes Scott, his family and Nicole who get no help from the cops or DEA. Really???

Meanwhile Nicole and Scott are working together to find out who is using puppies to smuggle drugs. The most interesting character in Force of Attraction was the wife of a rapper who had been convicted of dog fighting. The flamboyant wife was funny, smart and crafty - I just loved her.

Romance with mystery

These are not full K-9 mysteries. More romantic retortic than K-9 story. Graphic dialogue.
This author is not for me, but reader did a good job.
Author tried for some humor with Kelpto dog and should have had more. 2nd dog just along for the ride.
