best adventure story ( the whole series) written

for anyone who wants to embark on this adventure, start with the first book, Flashman and read them in series.

"I" know this is collectively the best adventure story ever written. I don't particularly care what you think because we are all different.

If you love history, Victorian era, the British army, cavalry, and pure scoundrels with the wickedest sense of British humor, then you will no doubt feel about these books as I do.

I read them one by one as they were published and then read them all again 3x in my life thus far, which is the only literature I have done so.

the recoding by David Case is wonderful. He has taken the silent words of Frazier and hung flesh on them by becoming Flashman. no other voice will do now after all his work on this project. He is Flashman.

it is the first time I allowed this story to be read to me and I am glad for it.
pure joy.

Another good one!

What did you love best about Flashman and the Redskins?

The story arc covered by Flash for Freedom and Flashman and the Redskins is a great read. If you like historical fiction, this would be an excellent addition to your library.

As I approach the end…

…Of the Flashman series… Having thoroughly enjoyed all that audible has made available… I feel increasing sadness that I will not likely find another compilation, half so brilliant, nor a reader remotely as talented as a David Case. What a treat!

Excellent

One of the great story tellers. One of the best narrators. I highly recommend Fraser.

Stateside Flashy, at Little Big Horn

Another rollicking adventure, split into two eras, twenty years apart. Flashman evades capture in New Orleans by hooking up with an English Madam, who leads him west to follow the gold rush to California. He never quite gets to CA., but manages to get captured by the Sioux and spends six months in an Indian village with an Indian wife. Twenty years later, he's back in the US with Elspeth and being led astray by a beauty with an eyepatch, winds up out west again, in the clutches of a wronged old flame, and then, as a participant and witness to the Little Big Horn skirmish. Wonderful action, precise historical detail and of course, the inimitable Flashy humor and cynicism, counterbalanced by enough honest humanity to make him the most likable of rogues. A joy for Flashy fans. David Case, aka Frederick Davidson, is the consummate Flashman.

My favorite book in my favorite series

And the narrator makes it twice as good. If you’re interested in American history and have a well-developed sense of humor you’ll love it.

David Case first...everyone else last!

This is not the best of the Flashman books--'Flashman and the Great Game' is George Macdonald Fraser's great Flashman masterpiece.
Nevertheless this is a fine story with a moving and poignant ending, unusual for the series.

Magnificently performed

Another triumph for fans of our favorite British coward. Satire delivered with impeccable style.
