Great story
So yes, I loved this book. One main reason, I am a former CDF Smoke Jumper stationed in Humbolk County California. I had a ball buster Like Mal. in Basic , but she was also the one who ran with me when I felt like quitting. I remember my very first blister from using the Pulaski with out gloves lol.
I also remember how I felt when I had lost a team member, and I had to be lifted of a deadly hill side during one of the worst fires Berkley California ever had. I could never return due to my injuries. I related to the guilt and pain she went through.
Now, the constant anger in Mal's voice and the craziness of her character was a bit much. it did bother me some. Jack had a lot going on as well. I wish the would of had more of a heart to heart. it would of solved alot between them.
I enjoyed the other sub characters as well. Sarah was a surprise, and I think she could of been developed a bit more as well.
The Narrator .. well I feel she did an ok job. Abby Craden probably could of brought out Jack better.
however all in all a great book for anyone who loves crazy romance.

Good characters, meh story
The characters had potential. Was a little too harlequin romance and cheesy for me. And the narration matched it. Seemed they had more depth than the dialogue they were given.

traditional romance
This is a very typical romance between to woman, both with conflicts to overcome. Iiked this story a lot as it fits the telling I like. I does not include a lot of drama, other then the internal conflicts of the characters, which I like. I loved the strong personalities of the two main female characters, and the romantic resolution. Im not one for erotica persay and prefer novels where this is limited and happens as part of the story line. This one fits the bill. It does not sound like a Radclyffe work as the narrator Stella approaches it differently, with a lot of excitement, She is a good narrator but can be over the top at times, I thought I might dislike the style but in the end it was an change and I enjoyed her narrations. One of the few stories I would listen to again.

loved it
I really enjoy this author. I've read this book prior but the narrator really brought this to life.
