Publisher's summary

Sheena Sullivan Morelli and her sisters, Darcy and Regan, receive the unexpected news that their Uncle Gavin Sullivan, the black sheep of the family, has left them a hotel on the Gulf coast of Florida. The gift comes with a twist. They must live together for one year at the hotel and prepare the hotel to receive guests within a year. Sheena, eager to escape her role of unappreciated wife and mother, can't wait for the opportunity to find herself. Dreams of sitting on the beach sipping margaritas are shattered when they see the property in need of renovation. But they begin their work of meeting the challenge. If they succeed, the bulk of Gavin's estate will be theirs. Facing the unexpected and working together, the three sisters learn a lot about each other and the gift of family love.

Feel good and sappy summer read.

Although the ending is a lead in to the next book of the series, this volume can be read as a stand alone.

Narration distracting.

I found the Boston characters having such heavy New Jersey accents to be very distracting.

A “feel good” novel from start to finish!”

Finding me is a “feel good” book when three sisters inherit a run down Florida Resort. They must restore it in one year for a larger inheritance. The work they do and the baggage that they carry requires unity, trust, and personal ingenuity they exert facilitates huge personal growth. There’s never a dull minute within this book’s pages. Recommended!

Good idea for story line, but...

Disappointed. I feel the story never concluded and you must purchase the next book to find out.

Fun story

The story was fun. Fun to hear and fun to imagine I was part time of "the challenge". Did not like the daughter or her voice. Hurt my ears and wasn't keen on Darcy's voice. Sounded like a 70 year old smoker

A delight that sneaks up on you

Very much appreciated how the author built a realistic family story this reader could relate to and found the choice of narrators spot on and perfect. The blend of believable romance with the everyday problems of everyday people resulted in a very satisfactory story that made me want to go on to the next installment.

Just stops?

Why the story just stops and leaves reader hanging? Is it to sell the next book in series?

Awful Accent!

I almost stopped listening a few times: the one sister is a little crass at times. It just seemed rather low class! I sure wasn’t crazy over the Bostonian accent, but I stuck with it. I ended up liking the story. The narrator did I good job, but I just don’t like the accent. All the beautiful accents in the English language and you had to pick that one! Seriously?!

This series should be read before seashell cottage

This is where the families from the Seashell Cottage have out of town stay. Reading I thought the hotel was always a well kept hotel. Now reading this story I see the history. Love this story even if it has been done over and over which is why I have it 5 stars
