Publisher's Summary

When the sleepy Scottish village of Cuddyford is colonised by well-heeled retirees and big-city commuters, Jigger McCloud, a Jack-the-lad local with an eye for the ladies, isn't slow to make a quick buck at their expense. Life seems rosy for Jigger and his odd-but-loveable family, until he tries to scam a mysterious foreign millionaire, who arrives on the scene with plans to develop the area in unappealing ways. The folk of Cuddyford, native and otherwise, promptly close ranks.
Comic shenanigans, quirky characters, and sinister ploys abound, but it's Bert, Jigger's scruffy little hamburger-craving dog, who turns out to be the hero of the hour as the McClouds and their beloved Cuddyford teeter on the brink of disaster.

wonderful scenery, characters and plot!

Would you consider the audio edition of Fiddler on the Make to be better than the print version?

The audio version is much better for me because we listened to it while driving in our wide brown land of Australia!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fiddler on the Make?

Without giving too much away, the ending is very satisfying after the excitement which led us to the that point.

What about James Bryce’s performance did you like?

We are certainly keen to listen to more of his work. We often search the performers as well as authors when seeking a new title. We have down loaded more of his performances than any other reader. His easy changes from Scottish to the other languages help to paint the chartacters clearly in our minds.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

We had more laughs than anything else while listening - the characters, including the dog, and the baddies, were very entertaining!

Any additional comments?

Roll on, more of this series!
