Publisher's summary

What do you do when the one you least expect to matter…

Ends up mattering the most?

Derek Pearson likes to think he's an easygoing guy. Uncomplicated, upfront, and unapologetic with what he wants. His what you see is what you get attitude is on prominent display for anyone who cares to look, and his foul mouth is right there to back it up should you miss the point.

However, what you see isn't always what you get, and only a select few have ever glimpsed the real man under the brash exterior.

Among them? Professor Jordan Devaney. Complicated, high-maintenance, and vibrant, he's Derek's opposite in every way. From the moment they saw each other, a love-hate relationship began.

But what happens when one person wants more?

Love these 2!

What did you love best about Devil's Kiss?

I think I loved this book even more than Finley, and that completely surprised me! I didn't have a really good feeling about Jordan in that book, he just wasn't very appealing to me and I thought the match-up between he and Derek was kind of weird. But after reading Devil's Kiss I'm happy to say I was wrong, so so wrong! Derek and Jordan are a perfect match, and I couldn't love them more!

When they say opposites attract they couldn't be more right when it comes to Derek and Jordan- on one hand you have He-Man, and the other, Posh Spice. Somehow, some way, these 2 just fit. I loved the evolution of their relationship- it took awhile for the time to be just right for them, things just weren't meant to be, until they were.

What did you like best about this story?

Jordan was such a revelation in this book, he was so not what I was expecting...he was so much more. He was so kind and caring to Derek, from the beginning of their relationship as student and teacher, to the very end. He was exactly the type of person Derek needed in his life. And Derek, oh Derek! Such a tough exterior hiding such vulnerability. I honestly adored these 2 as a couple. I loved their journey.

What does Charlie David bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was perfect- he did such a great job differentiating 2 such different voices.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love has no limits and knows no bounds.

Deliv's Kiss is more like a sexy purr in my ear!

What made the experience of listening to Devil's Kiss the most enjoyable?

Charlie David has brought these two sexy men to life. It's one thing to read the arguments between Derek and Jordan, but hearing it takes the scene to a whole new level. I could feel Derek's pain when he finally opens up to Jordan. I can picture the saucy wink Jordan gives Derek, making him growl. Hearing Jordan stamp his feet in a snit made me laugh. The commands that Jordan gives Derek during sex mad me swoon and squirm in my seat it's so off the charts hot. Mr. David did a good job creating the tension between the two characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Devil's Kiss?

The most memorable moment for me is when Derek storms out of Finley's house, mad about using his name on the foundation for abused and neglected children. Jordan and Derek are arguing, and Derek steps out of the car to tell Jordan why he is so upset. The narrator brought tears to my eyes, reading the naked pain in Derek's broken and crying voice. Perfectly executed moment.

Which character – as performed by Charlie David – was your favorite?

Charlie David's voice for Jordan was my favorite. He brought the character to life, making him jump off the pages of the book. I felt like Jordan was right in front of me. I could see him rolling his eyes, stamping his foot, waving his hands, and smiling in that self assured way he always has about him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely I wanted to finish this book in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I love Ella Frank, and all her books. Charlie David did a fantastic job of bringing these two enigmatic men to life. Bravo!

Wonderful

As with every book from Ella Frank, the story is rich with humor and drama, oh, and lots of sexual tension and rewards, but best of all it’s just an amazing story that captivates the reader!

Good narration. Decent story.

Really enjoy this narrator. The story was good, but not quite as engaging as most of Ella Frank's other books. Derek and Jordan's story just didn't seem to draw me as strongly as Brantley and Fin's. Worth the read to get Derek's perspective.

He-Man gets a little "Posh" :)

Would you listen to Devil's Kiss again? Why?

I sure will. It's well written, completely engrossing and well narrated.

What other book might you compare Devil's Kiss to and why?

Any other book written by Ella Frank and narrated by Charlie David.

What does Charlie David bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gives the characters dimension, adds depth that can't be recognized in the written words.

If you could rename Devil's Kiss, what would you call it?

Devil's Kiss. I don't like this question.

Any additional comments?

This follow up to Finley is not as much of a tear jerker, but it's just as intense.

Derek Pearson is Fin's best friend and the man he fell in love with just happens to be Fin's partner, Brantley, best friend. Derek has been through it, let me just say, born to bigoted, abusive alcoholic whose mission in life is to make Derek's miserable. The one constant in his life since day 1 of college is Professor Jordan Devaney. Nothing worth having comes easy they say and that pretty much describes this book. The push and pull between these two is unnerving but essential. Derek keeps everything bottled up inside. He's this big, buff workout guy. Large and in charge, runs his own gym. But the one place Derek can truly let his guard down and feel safe is when he's with Jordan. He'll be damned if he'll say that outloud though, especially to Jordan. Professor Devaney struggles with the fact that Derek was once a student of his. He also has commitment issues and his sometimes pretentious attitude drives a wedge between them.

I didn't want this book to end if I'm being honest. So much emotion, pain, love and honesty bled onto the pages and David translated every last drop of blood, sweat and tears with his phenomenal narration. I'm thinking that you should have already stopped reading my review and should be in the checkout line with this Audiobook in your cart!

Absolutely terrible

This book was pointless and boring. There was no character development. It jumped years and I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't even finish this book.
