Publisher's summary

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends With Us, a novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

At age twenty-one, Auburn Reed has already lost everything important to her. In her fight to rebuild her shattered life, she has her goals in sight and there is no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping a major secret from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

To save their relationship, all Owen needs to do is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin.

Holy crap!!

How does Colleen Hoover do it? She keeps writing more amazing novels. I'm blown away. So many surprises and twists in the plot; I didn't expect any of them. I loved these characters and I didn't want the story to end. But at least it ended beautifully.

Words brought story to life

I’ve listened to books by E. Louise, but this was my first Sebastian York narration. I WILL be listening to more of him. His voice was perfect for Owen, and Elizabeth’s was perfect for Auburn. Colleen Hoover is as perfect as an author can get, and these two brought her work to life. 10/10 would recommend

1st Audiobook

Both male and female narrators, but they were not used interchangeably?? That was illogical to me. Is this common?

As an artist I'm obsessed with confess

What a cool story...I love how mysterious it stays all they way up until the end. I really found it interesting how Owen would describe things in paint colors, as an artist I know exactly what he means. I connected with both the male and female characters and really liked the love story. It has just enough romance without being 50 shades of gray. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a love story to root for.

Truly Inspiring and what a twist!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Owen truly shows his strong belief in faith and hope, which I feel that his character engulfs the whole story and binds it together. He is the connection to all of them and his passion and patience to wait for his dad until he awakes and to remember this girl that helped his passion for art, to hang on to, was so amazing.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The women narration was a bit off. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes when she says, "thinkin", "goin" and there's a particular rhythm on her voice that doesn't quite capture the character's emotion, it's all the same rhythm even when she's sad, mad or concern.

Love it!!

She never fails. I came here after reading a book that has a movie based on it and was very disappointed. Knew that Colleen can give me something good to read..
