Publisher's Summary

Arlene is running from her old life. While driving a desert road in the middle of nowhere, her car breaks down, forcing her to seek refuge in a small diner. Diner owner Joe strikes a tentative deal with Arlene: in exchange for waitressing one night, he will cover the repairs to her car. On the surface things appear legitimate, but Arlene can't shake the feeling there's something off about Joe and his cliché diner.

OMG! I absolutely love this author! He reminds me of Stephen King soooooo much! I can't wait to see what he has in store for me next!

The best rides are often short. Awesome read!

What did you like best about this story?

Most books are written so straightforward these days that it's hard to find something completely unexpected. It's even more rare to find a story with the kind of great plot twists that made shows like the Twilight Zone so deliciously creepy. Gene Penny managed to pen a dark story worthy of the horror genre. What a fun listen. Bravo, Mr Penny!
