He didn't want to be bad. He just didn't have a choice....
Shayla Perkins isn't the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean "Stitch" Molina. So when he gives her the world's biggest rejection, that's it - she's done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn't mean he's interested in her. Or does it?
Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he's paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected - especially from a man like Sean. He's tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.
Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most...is to let each other go?
"The perfect mix of funny, hot and heartwarming. I enjoyed it immensely!" (Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling author, on Four Letter Word)

I want to be Stitch’s!
Oh this book! J. Daniels is already established as one of my Must Read Authors, but I was a bit late to the party - I only discovered her last year, some time before What I Need released and by that point I had consumed her entire catalogue to date. She has a way of writing characters in settings and situations that are realistic, relatable, and so entertaining. More than that, she writes about characters that stay with you long after you've finished the book (I'm looking at you Reese & Dylan, Reed & Beth, Riley & CJ, Wild & Trouble, and Loser & Legs). Not withstanding my deep and abiding love for the characters mentioned and the books they're from, Bad For You may just be my favorite of the bunch, though if not my favorite book, it definitely features my favorite characters. I aspire to be the type of friend that Shayla was - fiercely loyal, sensitive, empathetic, honest, self-sacrificing, and generous. And it would be an honor to recognize and love a man like Sean/Stitch. The prologue had me reaching for a Kleenex and wrapping him in my heart immediately. I'm not usually one for tearjerkers, but I happily made an exception for this and I wholeheartedly recommend this to EVERYONE. We (well I do at least) often focus on the Book boyfriends and how awesome they are, but in Bad For You, I’m all “Let’s hear it for the GIRLS!” Shayla might be the first heroine I’ve read where I didn’t think “I’d want to be her bestie IRL,” but instead “I want to BE her.” This Book stole my breath then gave me life, broke my heart then pieced it back together stronger than before. It’s a beautiful masterpiece...This will definitely be one of those books that I have to have in all of its forms - I preordered the paperback ages ago (like, as soon as that option was available) and the Audible version as well, and I will definitely be re-reading it into perpetuity. It gets all the stars.

I am not a huge fan of the “damaged hero” romances. When I look that genre up on GR, it seems I’ve read a lot of them. However, the majority that I have read the hero is still very alpha. In Bad for You, Sean isn’t alpha at all. He is damaged from a past that he has yet to get over. It is a horrific past, yet I felt Daniels could have gone a different direction with the character and made him harder from his experiences yet able to grow and find love with Shayla. That’s what I would have liked to see. Instead, it felt like Sean was so afraid to move on from his past mistakes and he was such a beat down mess that Shayla took the lead in everything. He was emasculated to the point I was wondering where his balls were?
Compared to the first two stories in this series this one was just a huge disappointment, and I had such high hopes. I am giving it 2 Boundless stars it really could have been better.
