Another Mythological adventure for me!

Would you consider the audio edition of Awakening to be better than the print version?

hmmm... well i can't really say. i love both reading and listening with stories and the fact that the voice was amazing. the accent had a little change over the course of the book but still overall great!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Awakening?

oh it has to be when Myra's mother was on tv... that just made me laugh like crazy! my aunt thought i was going nuts

Which scene was your favorite?

when Myra kicked Reginald's ass!! wait can i say that? i mean butt! :D

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Myra was deathly afraid of height! or flying! and yet... she swooped down with hesitation to save her soul bond Quinn

Any additional comments?

loved the overall sass' (did i spell that right?) from both characters the story was engaging and always kept you at the edge of your seat. i little unscheduled pauses from the voice actress here and there. but not really that bad. still giving this 5 stars all the way!

Another winner

I just can't stop listening to Erik Schubach stories. Love the narrator, love the author's style, love the stories. This is saying a lot, considering I rarely latch onto an author who "fades to black" when it comes to sex scenes...in fact, none that make my fav list do... until Erik. His tales are rich and made to be audible. I'm not sure I'd enjoy them as much if I read them. The narrator really does a great job with his characters, especially the accents in this story. Looking forward to listening to the next in this series.

good but...

What did you like most about Awakening?

Hollie Jacksons narration was amazing she made the characters believable and the accents were spot on

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

the relationship between Quinn and Myra was great stood out to me<br/>but the main villain didn't seem to have a personality and became very bland

What about Hollie Jackson’s performance did you like?

the accents she did were amazing

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Don't like the English, this is for you...

Any additional comments?

The over all plot could be better but the characters were great and I almost fell in love with a few of them especially Quinn and Myra<br/>but the main villain to me (as an Englishman) seems to be a dig at the English, but that's just my opinion, but besides that It makes for a great listen

A great take on an old subject

I loved 'Music of the Soul' by the same author, and it was on the strength of that which caused me to buy this story.

I also like the subject matter, but it's hard to find a story to do with dragons and fantasy that looks at things in a different light.

Given that I often find these types of stories too much of the same thing rehashed, the way this was brought into the modern age was fresh and really worked well.

The only thing I did find slightly annoying was the constant use of a certain phrase by Myra. I understand why it was used, but for me it was added a couple of times just to fill a moment rather than because the dialogue warranted its inclusion.

Considering the various accents to do with the language included in the text, the narrator did well to separate them out. Not easy to switch between Irish, British and American English, so well done to Holly Jackson.

Another thing I enjoyed was the way the relationship between Myra and Quinn developed. I understand that a lot of people want the lesbian 'erotic' book, but those of us who also want a nice romatic story, but based around a good meaty storyline are often disappointed. So many times I've read or listened to a story in the hope that there will be more of a plot and character developement happening, only to have it ending up as nothing more than erotica - very disappointing. If you have a good storyline that is well written you don't need almost constant erotica to fill the pages. It seems a bit of a copout by authors when that happens. To find this story avoided that pitfall was refreshing, and not only does that gives us a book that we can enjoy purely for the plot, it also gives us a book that proves good writers don't need to pad their pages with something that is superfluous.

If you want the erotica there are plenty of other books that give readers that particular storyline, but don't be disappointed because this story doesn't have that. Allow those of us who want a more plot driven book to enjoy these types of books, because for us they are few and far between.

I sincerely hope that the next book in the series will be added to the Audible catalogue in the not too distant future.
