Publisher's Summary

If your dream is big enough, not even your enemies can stop you....
Charlie Trumper's earliest memory is of hearing his grandfather's sales patter from behind his costermonger's barrow. When Grandpa Charlie dies, young Charlie wants nothing more than to follow in his footsteps - his burning ambition is to own a shop that will sell everything: 'The Biggest Barrow in the World'.
Charlie's progress from the teeming streets of Whitechapel to the elegance of Chelsea Terrace is only a few miles as the crow flies. But in Jeffrey Archer's expert hands it becomes an epic journey through the triumphs and disasters of the century, as Charlie follows a thread of love, ambition, and revenge to fulfil the dream his grandfather inspired.

Outstanding

Love the characters which were made so full of life by John Lee, especially Mrs. Trentham, Daphne and the lawyer Baverstock. Could not resist listening at odd hours, while driving to work and even at the Gym - in the quest to know where the story leads.Gripping indeed! Great work by Archer and the narration simply compliments.

Excellent

Two of my favourites: Jeffrey Archer and John Lee. Couldn't ask for more in an audio book. Loved it.

Surprisingly gripping....

Only 2nd Mr Archer book listened too, very impressed so far. This one could be a mini series, it all sounds dull, barrow boy does good, but it is a blinking good book, would recommend it.

Arguably the best Jeffrey Archer

This story is amazing! The detail and character development is very believable.
Only downside. The performer, mistakes a South African accent for Australian.
That aside, I thoroughly recommend this book.

Great story, one of my favourite loved it in audio

My only criticism is, being Australian, I wish the Australian characters accents were more accurate.
