Publisher's Summary

How far will a man go to protect his family from a war being declared on his home? Some thing, an anomaly, an anarchist, invades Ben Needham's home, demanding resurrection.
Enlisting a team of scientists, Ben surrenders his life to unravel the tragedy in his home that left it stained and soulless. A murder and a cover-up take us across the spiritual divide and back - until we learn we are so much more than our ABCs and our 123s.

The story seems interesting but..

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book is for anyone who has insomnia. The narrator has a nice voice but no range. His mundane story parts are the same as his scary story parts. Such as one instance a character is quasi violated by a ghost. It Should have been scary. It was boring. He has a very nice voice if he were reading a historical novel but, he's not for horror stories.

What did you like best about this story?

The concept

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jack de Golia?

Someone that can pull off female voices and change tone when something scary happens.

What character would you cut from Are But Shadows?

Any additional comments?

I would listen to this narrator again and read another book by this author. I just will avoid them when they are put together.
