Publisher's summary

House-sitting for a friend is supposed to be a lucky break for Aiden Daly. Discovering his new housemate is the image of his first crush turns it into a nightmare. Marco de Luca is obviously interested in being more than housemates, but his resemblance to Aiden's ideal man seems only skin-deep. Besides, Aiden doesn't date.

Since his adoptive father's suicide, Aiden's first priority has been supporting his remaining family - and shielding them from the truth of their financial situation. Deeply concerned for his mother's mental health, Aiden remains closeted and lonely, convinced that bad luck is the only luck he'll ever have.

As if the pressure of keeping his father's financial secrets weren't enough to handle, Aiden's birth father makes contact, sending Aiden's anxieties spiraling out of control. But it's a crisis at work that finally brings Aiden to his breaking point. Accepting support from Marco is a gamble, but it could be just what Aiden needs to turn his luck around.

A good book in the series - worth a credit

The plot is nicely set up in the previous book, so it's no surprise how and why this book comes about. It's a good follow up book in the series, and worth a credit.

Reader's Luck

if this is the last in this great series, then I bid it a very fond farewell. I loved them all, and this latest grabbed at my heart and I feel fortunate to have come upon them all. J.P. Handler was as always perfect.

Still dont like the narrator, ok story

The story is fine, not exceptional but not bad. Sweet and family oriented with likable MCs. It is not one i will remember but i was entertained. I do Think that i May have liked it a great deal more with another narrator. I listened to other productions with this narrator because the stories were good but he really irritated me and is kind of whiny as if the character is about to cry every time he/she feels Any emotion at all. Seriously consider listening to the Audio sample to see if u are able to disregard this. If u dont understand what im taking about while listening to the first 10sec, Wait and listen to more of the sample.

Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance

Would you listen to Aiden's Luck again? Why?

After Ben, the first book is this series, was one of my all time favourites. I thought Con Riley’s writing in that heart wrenching book was brilliant. It’s a close call but I think Aiden’s Luck might just top that. This story is all about family - the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s about one mans mission to save his family from the truth, his sense of duty over a 5 year period that leaves him struggling and barely surviving.

Aiden’s adoptive parents are everything to him. They saved him and then later his brother Evan from the care system and all that implied. They were a regular family of four, happy and content until his father committed suicide. With his mother suffering a mental breakdown and family services sniffing around making sure Evan was suitably cared for Aiden made a decision that would change his life. He took over ALL responsibility for his family not realising at the time just what a difficult thing that would be and how much it would affect and change his life.

Five years of lies, deceit, stretched finances, hiding his sexuality and stress are really beginning to take their toll. When he agrees to house sit for a friend the last thing he expects is to find himself staring into the almost identical face of his first crush. The very talkative, very annoying and very beautiful face of Marco de Luca, youngest brother of the late Ben de Luca.

Talk about opposites! Ben is so trampled down with his responsibilities where Marco is larger than life, gregarious and determined to butt into his business. The more Marco pushes Aiden, the more walls Aiden erects until he breaks down in the family home garage when hit with past memories and Marco is there to pick him up and help him through it.

Con could not have written a more compassionate character than Marco. For me he was just perfect. He always knew just what was required. He could remain calm, he could push if required, he always offered support and advice...the way he dealt with Aiden had the vibe of a D/s relationship to me and Aiden responded positively and for the first time in years he started feeling hope.

This is a heartfelt story and beautifully written. It will take you through a gamut of emotions whilst Aiden tries at first to keep his life precariously balanced before realising that he may have to face the truth and that the people he loves and protects are stronger than he gives them credit for.

Good but a little frustrating

This is the 3rd book in this series. It can be read as a stand alone, but it helps to have read the 1st book as Ben and Theo are still a part of this story. But really the 2nd couple, Peter and Sean play little to no role in this book aside from a few references. Peter's father Paul plays a bigger role than Peter. Now the book itself.

This book is a romance between Marco and Aiden, but it is more about Aiden's inner self inflicted turmoil. Aiden is a really good guy making really bad choices and not seeking the help of the people who love him. So the angst meter is off the charts in this book. Not for the romance, but because of the lack of communication. I had a lot of eye rolling and wanting to throttle Aiden and say "just say it for god's sake!!" This continue until about the 80% mark and then when the secrets finally come out, it was very anti climatic for me.

The only saving grace is the romance with Marco; he is a great character and a joy in the book. His outlook on life, his relationship with his family and putting up with Aiden's crap, makes him the star of the book. On the other plus side, the narrator does a fabulous job. His voice for Marco was spot on complete with an Italian accent. And his narration of Aiden's inner voice and emotion was great. Overall worth a credit.

I'm in love by Marco and Aiden

Aiden couldn't take anymore... The finantial stress, the secrets, the lies, his annoying housemate that didn't had the sense to leave Aiden alone... But then, being alone was really what Aiden wanted?
His level of stress was so high with all that was on his plate, that it was a miracle he was still able to function properly.
Marco came to the United States to take care of his brother's business after his death. He never though he would fall for his housemate. Or that he would have a chance to woo him over.
But fate took the decision from their hands and all they could do was support and draw strenght from each other to deal with their problems...
And without realising it... Aiden started to fall head over heels for his housemate...
I loved this book soo much! this is an amazing serie!

Couldn't finish due to narration

The story was ok as read on my kindle, but the audio version really sucked. The narrator ruined it. He almost sounds like a robot reading the book. Get the kindle or paperback version instead.
