Editorial Reviews

Wayne Zurl’s A Murder in Knoxville: A Sam Jenkins Mystery is a fun, fast-paced "novelette", in the author’s own words, a kind of sideways Southern crime noir. Listeners will be gripped from the start by this intriguing audiobook, in which sultry newswoman Rachel Williamson calls in a favor with Prospect, Tennesse Chief of Police Sam Jenkins, leading him down a rabbit hole of crime, drama, and even murder.
Skilled voice actor David Colacci embodies this gruff, arrogant series protagonist with flair, demonstrating a special knack for building tension. Tune in for an unpredictable ride, as Zurl pulls out all the stops in this compact mystery.

Superficial

No subtle plot machinations nor any language to raise the level of this transparent story.

Structure was nicely rounded.

Any additional comments?

Whets one's appetite for similar books. Made me want to check out more Wayne Zurl audio books and was fairly disappointed to find out they are all short stories.
