A great listen

I almost didn;t kisten to this because of the reviews. Boy I'm glad I did! The stoy is good as always and the narrator was good. I believe some of the other reviews were based on the character being "young" voice rather than a mature voice. I found Audrey Lush entertaining. Although there were a few parts that she was slow in but all in all I'm glad I listened!

Great story, annoying narrator

I love this series but wish the narrator stayed the same for all the books. This narrator didn't fit the book and made listening to it less enjoyable. The original narrator for the first book sounded more peppy, this narrator sounded angry in my opinion.

not impressed with the narrator

I had an extremely difficult time trying to finish this book due to the narrator. I just couldn't get into her voice and she basically ruined the book for me.

Narration could be better

I read a lot of reviews about the dislike of the narrators performance. I can be pretty picky so I hesitated but I was engrossed in a binge read of this series and wanted to continue so I jumped in.

I agree that the narrator didn’t fit the character. She made Venus sound whiny during scenes I would picture the Venus I know, being more stoic or even sounding. Certainly not whinny. And she sounded older and sometimes frail for a vibrant, bad ass vampire. I’m sure the narrator would be fine for many books, but this wasn’t it.

A few times I did consider if it would be ok to skip this one and move on to the next one. But I’m glad I stuck with it because there was some important information and new characters that I think will show up again. I really hope to see Tiara again!!!

If you’re a fan of the series, listen to this one. Just be open to enjoying the story while ignoring the mismatch of the narrator.

Couldn't take it!

loved the story but had a very hard time listening to the whole thing. hate to say it but the narrator was not good. I get you wanted to use a black lady for the character and as being black I appreciate it but this one was not a good one..lol I ended up reading. it instead.

another wonderful installment=)

it's been awhile since i first listened to this series from the beginning, but i love everything about it=)

once you get to This book tho, i suggest increasing the narration speed to 1.25. if you don't, you'll find that this narrator, although good, drags all her words out to the point you'll feel like giving up.

increase the speed and i guarantee you'll love this book as much as all the rest=)💗💗💗

The Narrator!

I enjoyed the story but, I’m sorry, the narrator made it VERY difficult to finish.

Didnt like the narrator...

I don't like the narrator at all!! The story was ok, not as good as the previous ones.

Horrible narratives

She sounds old, I had a difficult time listening to the book. She doesn’t sound sexy and tough.

Good story

I'm quite surprised by several negative Audible posted reviews. The narrator did a nice job for Venus's voice. Not everyone sounds like you. However, a little less ferociousness / anger tenseness in the male voices could have been used. With that being said, the story has depth, abundant character development with intense histories that will break your heart, and an attention grabbing storyline that will have you rooting for the pageant ladies and wanting to get in on Vlad's beat down too! Overall, a nice edition to the series!
