Publisher's summary

Harley Vincent is resigned to life in the human world. Sure, being a margay shifter is half her nature, but life among humans gives her the freedom to roam and do as she pleases. That is, until anti-shifter extremists target her, putting her life in immediate danger.

When an old acquaintance and onetime fling, Jesse Dalton, shows up to offer the protection of his pack, Harley hesitates. She may have feelings for Jesse that go beyond their one-night stand, but life among shifters means giving over her independence to the needs of pack. Plus Mercury Pack has its own threat to face: a rich half-shifter is determined to claim their territory at any cost.

Jesse, who lost his true mate as a child, has wanted Harley since their night together, and he's not letting her go again. They may not be destined for each other, but he knows she belongs to him and with his pack. Even if he can convince her to join him now, can he convince her to stay?

I don't understand why jill is dragging out her voice, I love her in all three other books but thats kinda annoying.

Wow

I am so sad it ended. Different look at a mating relationship but still very intense. Their was no slow spot.

Loved the story -But too much sex!

I loved the story but just too much SEX. I really do love it when there are sexy scenes as long as they enhance the plot but just to have it for sex's sake just doesn't do it for me. Sexy scenes are awesome as long as they are something that works within the plot. I just like a good story line. However, others might like it and I do have a fast forward button so that I can get back to the plot and I don't skip them all. It does make a 5 star book go down to 4 or 3 when it overwhelms the book at least for me it does.

Not the best addition to the story.

This book made me mad at the Mercury pack, most of them started out as assholes to Harley at the beginning of the book. I was disappointed in the pack, who by now I consider my friends. They do turn around quickly, but it soured my enjoyment of the book. This was not one of my favorites from the series. I'm also not a fan of couples who have already been together, but then for some unknown reason separate, then get back together. Very few authors can pull this off. I still liked it okay and it made my day go by quickly at work, so there is that. I also love the kids, Willow had me cracking up. This is a series that should be read in order, starting with the Phoenix series. Narrator does an good job, and I would happily listen to anything she narrates.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

Another great book by Suzanne Wright! I love all of her shifter books! These books are all action packed, humorous and Hot! This is a spin off from the Phoenix Pack series and besides missing Greta's snark, I love this series just as much as the first! Jesse and Harley are a perfect pair! As always Jesse is a growling bossy man and Harley is feisty and gives him a lot of hell! This book is crazy Hot and has a lot of action within the pack! I love that we get to visit with the Phoenix Pack members here too!

The narration is great, even if she does seem to get into chracter so much that it's like she is yelling at you on occasion lol

It was ok

I'm a huge fan but I have to say this was my least favorite in this series. Usually I can't put them down but with this one it just didn't grab me like all the others. It did make me begin to listen to the series from the beginning though!

Finally the Imprinting Story

We all love Wright's True mate themes but were wondering if the secondary characters were cheating themselves by imprinting rather than waiting for their true mate. The answer kids is no they weren't cheating themselves and by taking the imprinting theme on head on in this book she opened up a world of possibilities for her packs. They are no longer tied to just finding another wolf shifter in a world full of shifters.

The introduction of a new shifter species and different types of packs such as prides will broaden the world she created allowing for more humor and fun. The love is as good fated magic thing is pretty great too.

I was looking forward to this but.....

I have enjoyed this series, along with Jill Redfield reading. I'm not sure why but Jill changed her reading style and I found it irritating. It was sing-song and I had a hard time finishing it.

Weakest story in series

The author's and narrator's voices both sounded "off" in this book. I'm no prude as anyone who reviews my library can attest, but the inconsistencies in the storyline kept it from offsetting the heavy sex. ( ex: she's a musician performing at a nightclub; but at her mating ceremony she "doesn't like to be the center of attention". Where did I miss her stage fright or fear of performing? her angst and pushing herself to go out on the stage? Nada. Nichts. Nyet. If I'd read this book first, I would never have bought the others. I really got a feel in the work that Wright was spending time reading Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series (scents) and her Psy-Changeling series (cat & wolf shifters)....both of which are excellent.

borderline abusive

forced myself to listen after the 1st hour, at 2 hours i had to stop. the story started up too fast, it was like the writer wanted to jump ahead. the male is just a bordeline abusive a**hole. couldn't listen to one more word. i really like Suzanne Wright's the other books a lot, that is why i gave it 2 hours of my life. but this is not worth a credit and i am returning it.
