Publisher's summary

Finnian bears the scar of an unspeakable crime. Tiria hides the pain of a terrible betrayal. When all their secrets are laid bare, will the truth rip them apart or forever silence the echoes of the past?

Seventeen-year-old Finnian Bell has been on the run for years, but he finally has a chance to rebuild his life while restoring an abandoned lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. Tiria Lucas, the lightkeeper's daughter, is still reeling from the pain of an event that has shattered her innocence. Fear and bitterness have turned her heart from Finnian, but he is determined not to let her go.

The lighthouse harbors dark secrets of its own.... When Finnian and Tiria uncover the story of two teens hidden in the tower back in 1935, they discover a shocking connection that bridges time and death.

Crossing genres into worlds you've never seen...Echoes in the Glass is half-contemporary, half-historical with enough mystery, romance, and lighthouse lore to ignite your imagination.

Lighting the Way

This book may have taken me a few chapters to suck me in but when it did there was no putting down the headphones. WOW!

If you are looking for a mystery with a few paranormal bits, suspense, action, adventure, and a little romance then this is the book for you. Cheri Lasota does a fabulous job of spinning the tale, the characters, and the setting. I could almost hear the ocean in the background and feel the chill in the damp air.

The story mainly takes place at a lighthouse off the Oregon coast during two different time periods, 1935 during the depression and present day, with two sets of teenagers searching to find their way. In 1935 Morgan still reeling from the death of his mother at the hands of his lighthouse keeper father takes a summer job at a farm and meets Carina, the farmer's daughter. Present Day, the same lighthouse is being restored by Tiria's father and Finnian is hired to help with the renovations.

Narrator Ian Sorensen brings life to the words by use of distinct voices and vocalizing the various character personalities.

Parallel stories in an intriguing setting

Any additional comments?

This is not your average tale and is wonderfully crafted by the author. There is really something for everyone. The story starts with a horrible tragedy and then jumps back to another time. For me, the joy was in watching the story slowly knit together as people, whose lives are broken by events somehow find ... (sorry, unwilling to spoil it, best you just go read it for yourself now)

Fantastic weaving of tales

If you could sum up Echoes in the Glass in three words, what would they be?

Eternal love found

What did you like best about this story?

I love the way the stories were interwoven with one another. The lighthouse, the ghost, the ocean as the constant never changing; even as the world around them change. The love stories two different couples four people with things to hide and all their secrets must be exposed for everybody to find happiness.

What about Ian Sorensen’s performance did you like?

I love to the voice reading it was strong. I was not as happy with the pause at the end of each chapter as well as the pause at the start of each new chapter so that you had almost a minute it seems like at least of dead air that just did not remind me of how I read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book would have been a bit long for a one sitting reading. But it definitely kept me company During some rain swept winter days here in Oregon.

Any additional comments?

My grateful thanks to the author Cheri LaSota for the gift of this book to read and enjoy during a wet week here in Oregon.

Captivating story!

I listened to the audio version of this book and really enjoyed it. First off, it's a fascinating look at the life of a lighthouse keeper. Secondly, I liked how the two stories (past and present) tied together, and I really liked the characters, particularly Finn and Tiria. It is an interesting story from a historical standpoint, with a well-developed plot and plenty of action which moves the story forward. And, of course, there is the romance, which makes it all the more enjoyable, for me anyway.

I've read a couple of books by this author and liked them both. She writes in-depth stories with much detail. It is obvious she does her research well. I look forward to reading more of her work.

The allure of the sea ...

Finnian Bell grew up on the Pacific coast, but he didn't especially like the sea. It held too many memories, and too much guilt. After traveling the country for a few years, he returns to one of the coastal towns, Seagraves, working up the nerve to confront his past. Along the way, he meets the lighthouse keeper's daughter, and they realize they're heading to the same seaside home for the summer. Finnian knows lighthouse restoration and Tiria has nowhere else to go.

Decades in the past, another young lighthouse keeper meets a fiercely independent farmer's daughter. They too, escape to the same lighthouse, Cape Sorrow Lighthouse, off the coast of Seagraves. The story weaves back and forth between the two timelines, never ... quite ... touching each other as both couples struggle to understand the mysteries and sorrows Cape Sorrow holds.

I enjoyed the story thoroughly, but I felt the reader was simply ... reading. He reads very quickly and doesn't mispronounce anything, but there is little to no emotional impact behind his words. I thought it would be something I would get used to, that it would become character-appropriate, but it never quite did. This one might be better as an ebook than an audible. :-)

Interesting YA read...

This is a YA read (Young Adult) that has two stories that end up meeting into one. I found this book to be very interesting. I liked the characters of Finn and Tiria. I found the author had an unique approach to this story and the plot kind of snuck up on me. It took to the end of the book for everything to make sense. I didn't see it coming. What an adventure this turned out to be.

This is my first read by the author, Cheri Lasota. I like her style of writing & love her approach. The narrator, Ian Sorensen delivered a flawless story to us with multiple voices and accents.

I won this audio book as a gift in a book event party.

Echoes in the Glass

What does Ian Sorensen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He really brought the story to life!

Any additional comments?

This was a wonderful listen!. I loved the mystery, young romance, danger of this story. So many secrets are revealed in this story it keeps you on your toes and wanting more. It is also a tale of great tragedy and triumph for so many. Although the story had me at chapter 1, I got a little annoyed at how it goes back and forth between the 2 stories until they tie together, but I quickly got over this!

The Haunted Lighthouse And Its Haunted People

What did you love best about Echoes in the Glass?

I loved the fact that it was set in two different times and yet each group's plight mirrored the other! It was synchronicity at its best. It was almost like the mistakes of the past were made up for in the present giving everyone (including the ghosts) respite and healing the wounds left by past tragedies.

What other book might you compare Echoes in the Glass to and why?

None! It was very different from any other ghost story I have ever read! It was a very enjoyable listen and I can't reccomend it more highly :)

Have you listened to any of Ian Sorensen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first experience with his performance. I found it engaging and entertaining! I would definitely listen to more of his work :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was poignant and exhilarating. You never knew why was going to happen next... Or who would survive! It kept me on the edge of my seat :)

Any additional comments?

Wonderfully written

What a wonderful book masterfully written by Cheri Lasota. Echos in the Glass has it all. This is the love story of two young couples living in an abandon Lighthouse 80 years apart. Katrina and Morgan in the early 1900's and Tiara and Finn in present day. But it is also so much more then that. This book has everything I love. Lighthouses with secret hidden passage ways, Romance, Intrigue, ghost, strong characters you will both love and hate and the love of a good man who would do anything for the girl he loves. This book is already a classic and one I intend to purchase on kindle so I can read it over and over again

I listened to the audio version and the story came to life through the narration by Ian Sorenson.
