Easily top 10. One of best all around audiobooks. Brilliant pairing of writer and performer!

What did you like best about this story?

Just finished it, and so it's fresh in my mind. The pacing...the rhythm...the underlying concept. It is remarkable.

What does Carl Prekopp bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Simply put, Carl, with this performance, moved to the top tier of my audio performer stars. A simply stellar piece of work. He owns these characters so profoundly it is scary. Frankly, this is one of the best audio performances I have ever heard. Done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, in so many ways.I could barely listen to the stories today while I was doing my routine with ( no spoilers ) drama that unfolds. My word but I developed a personal relationship with Ben, Harry and Safr, and all the others ( yes, including Roland ). These are living people, with all that entails.

Any additional comments?

I need to endorse this offering without any hesitations. Powerful, honest, complex and well brilliantly performed. I was moved by this book in many ways, and am awaiting the next book in the series intensely.

I have a new favorite author.

The narrator was great and brought you right into the story.

I started reading R R Haywood with the Undead series. Then my wife introduced me to audible. I have listened to the full Undead series. I tried this book because it was R R Haywood. I was not disappointed. The story was great. I can't wait for the next one.

Book ends before the story starts

Is there anything you would change about this book?

So the puppet master assembles this amazing crowd of top notch protagonists through difficult circumstances, the legion of protagonists are well developed characters and I found myself cheering for them, rooting them on when they were down from training and whatnot. They got all of their shit together and were ready for this fight to save humanity. I was like "Yea baby! These guys are coming for you!" then the book ends, apparently the story starts in book 2, book 1 is just the background info. I feel jilted.

RR Haywood does it again!

If you're a fan of The Undead then you'll love this book too!! I find this book to be awesome. The narrator puts a ton of personality to the characters. I finished it in 2 days!! You'll be happy you stepped into this world!!!

Surprisingly Good!

Wow, at last a decent Sci-Fi with excellent character building alongside a captivating plot and perfect narration. I will be buying Book 2 to listen to next! 4.75 stars

Ti.e Travel sans the headaches

Can't wait for the next one! Even Captain Kirk would enjoy this time travel book!

great story and narration

Premise for the book is very sound. i will definitely be getting the next one. Very character driven but following a really solid plotline. writing style is wonderful. 5 out of 5 to the author.

The narrator did great as well. there were a few moments where the voices mixed together enough to be noticed but overall an easy and enjoyable listen!

Starts with a Bang

This is REALLY just the very first part of a very very good tale. The readers array of accents for the characters herein are brilliant, and the premise and delivery are wonderful... I'm really only afraid that it might stop.

Nice surprise

This was a nice surprise. I cannot wait to dive into part 2. The tech behind the plot is mostly unbelievable, but the author keeps it at a high enough level to prevent the reader from getting caught up on it. Add in the suspense, humor, emotions, and characters and you get a will written, fun to read, book.
