My whole life has been about waiting. Playing it safe. Be the good girl, don't color outside the lines. Put in the hard work trying to prove myself to Dad, then to my college professors, then to my boss at New World Media. Just waiting for the day when it will all pay off.
And right when it was all starting to - I finally had the house, the job, I was even thinking about getting a cat-boom! - my life explodes and suddenly now I'm here and -
"All done," the doctor interrupts my thoughts, pulling off her gloves with a loud snap.
Even from the bed where I'm lying, my legs spread like the Thanksgiving turkey, I can hear the impatient growl of the man standing in the doorway. If you can even call him a man. More like a beast out of a friggin' fairytale. "Well?"
Her pronouncement echoes throughout the room while the speculum is still inside me. "She's a virgin."

warning use headphones!
I usually walk around listening to my audio books, playing while i do work around the house..
This is not a good idea with this book if you have kids at home. LOL Mrs O'Malley really gets into acting out her sex scenes. and trust me when I say this book has a lot of hot sex in it.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I'm still not sure what to think about this one...
I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish this one, but since I was given a review copy I knew I had to. The first half of the book was seriously disturbing for me, I know this is a dark romance, but I have serious issues around the lack of true consent, the psychological torture and the degrading treatment that Xavier insisted on.
It did get somewhat better and the ending of the book was OK.
On top of finding the story disturbing, the narration was not my cup of tea. I hated the character voices, all of them, the female voices were just as bad as the male voices, possibly worse. The heroines voice was inconsistent but mostly whiny and weak. The overall delivery was OK.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review. (And honestly that's the only reason I finished the book.)

narrator voice frustrated me
overall the story was enjoyable. However, the narrator spoiled it for me. Her voice was too mumbled and monochrome. I could really only hear her words with clarity on the phone speaker. anything else was too difficult to distinguish. crisper and sharper enunciation desperately needed.

I read this book and totally loved it so decided to treat myself to the audible version for when im traveling!!! I have to say it totally comes alive when you hear it narrated!!! I wasnt sure about the narrator at first but she soon gets you totally sucked in and does and awesome job!!!
Still totally love the story and Mels internal musings have me laughing out loud on a regular basis, but i have to say some parts of the story had me in tears (again)!!
This is a must listen to - and read!!!
